I think Fennell is correct about OL in the 1st. Too good a class early. Can't rely on continually finding some gem later. It's just not a sustainable strategy simply because they've done it before. I agree with him that it's a bigger need than CB.

I like that he mentions Trevin Wallace at ILB and Jaden Hicks at Safety. A couple of guys I'm high on that are lower on Consensus boards but are going to go higher.

Surprised they didn't discuss RB. It's going to be a need by 3rd round in my estimation.

Wallace could take a big jump if he smokes the combine like people expect.

The combine will shake up a lot of the “perceived wisdom” of punditry, as it does every year.

In this draft, as it stands, the OL depth appears such that Gute could easily trade down and get an extra bite of that indeed is their highest rated player group when our first pick comes up. Is there a S or LB they can’t miss? After Hafley’s comments, a FS in particular could drive fireworks if there is (I’m not seeing one at present).

I’m just not high on this RB class. Who early is really worth getting excited about?

It’s quite possible Gute could trade down if he is still seeing some of their top OL on the board. One thing you can probably bank on is we will see movement in some round.

When I say early, I’m talking 1st and 2nd rds. 3rd and 4th mid- rd. 5th-7th as late. I don’t see any RB as early. I think RB’s will start to come off in the 3rd round. I’ve talked about a couple guys I like. Audric Estime and Jaylen Wright.

A week ago I thought if one of JPJ, Fautanu or Barton were available at 25 Gutey should probably take them. I'm not sure if they'll be interested in JPJ, even though I think they should. We'll see what his 3-cone looks like but he's out of their normal range for weight. Also read that Barton has slower feet and probably isn't a great fit in outside zone so his 3-cone will be important.
