Michael Huff Agrees to Three-Year Deal With Ravens

Michael Huff won't be making any visits to Green Bay, as the top safety left in free agency has officially agreed to a deal with the Baltimore Ravens.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Huff's new deal in Baltimore is for three years and just $6 million.

While there was reported interest from Green Bay in Huff last week, and the 30-year-old safety told Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star Telegram Tuesday that he had a visit set with the Packers, the possibility exists that a visit was never in the cards between the two sides.

Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel heard as much.

Huff, an All-Pro in 2010, will replace Ed Reed at safety for the Ravens.

Ozzie is the best GM in football. Another great deal. Huff would of been nice in GB

Rocky70's picture

The difference between Ozzie & TT is obvious. -- Ozzie has a set, TT doesn't.

Yeah, kicking Brett Favre's ass out of town and replacing him with an unproven QB was something only a ball-less wimp would do.

Difference is players actually want to go play in Baltimore...not so much in Green Bay...

You're a putz.

Now that's...'truer words never spoken.'

There's a reason Huff went to BAL first.

Like it or not, very few black athletes want to come to GB because of the extreme elements, the size of the city, the cultural makeup of the area, and the fact that our GM doesn't overpay. To ignore those elements of the FA process is ignorant and naive.

Money ultimately talks, but only to an extent.

All of that said, I personally think these athletes are being shirt-sighted and closed minded. But I've also never lived a day in their shoes, so I can't say for sure I wouldn't look at GB the same way they do if in their position.

Funny how almost every player that has played in GB loves it. You don't think that doesn't get around to every other NFL player?!

Matt's picture

Ted Thompson being tight with the money sure does get around!

Did Huff even make it to GB? If not, who cares. $2 million per is not alot of money though.

Let all these teams get these old FAs. Especially at S because then some of the top S in the draft can fall right to us. We shouldn't be so upset Huff is athletic but not physical I'd rather have Elam or Cyprien so let's just wait until the draft and forget about these older FAs. To me the only one worth taking a look at is Bradshaw bcas of his age but he has serious health issues so we could pass on him too

cow42's picture

tired of waiting for rookies and 2nd year guys to develop.

feel free to sign some upgrades AND draft for the future.

Brooklyn81's picture

I feel you when you are talking about some of the better FAs out there like i really wanted Gholston but Huff tho i feel like there's better value in the draft

You Have no Freakin Clue at all! Feel free to quit trolling Packer sites!

cow42's picture

i get it.
you don't agree with my view of the roster.

stop pestering me.

why have you decided to take on the roll of "cow-basher".

i never attack you.
never call you names.
never use profanity towards you.

yet you're constantly on the attack.
give it a rest.

it's ok for some fans of the Packers to think the team might be missing the boat in terms of building a contender for RIGHT NOW.

why is this idea so insulting to you?

you're just a know-it-all dick.

Lmao, sorry you couldn't update your free agent tracker Zach... I was pulling for ya. Would have been nice to bring a vet in at the position, but who were we kidding...

Do you want your prize in one lump sum or in annual installments?

jmac34's picture

sure Evan just kill my moment

Evan's picture

haha. Sorry about that. I've been right about Packer personnel decisions literally zero, soak it up.

PackerBacker's picture

You and everyone else with a clue. Not a tough call on this one.

Lou's picture

After giving Flacco the ranch and signing Dumervill, even though the contract for Huff is low, where is the money coming from in Baltimore ?

Evan's picture

They did lose like 5 starters from their defense.
