McCarthy On Nelson's Readiness For Training Camp: "I Think He'll Be Fine"

The veteran reciever was on the field for some drills today, but is still not taking part in team period.

Jordy Nelson was on the field for some drills at today's OTA practice that was open to the media and the public, but he was still not participating in any team period work.

When asked after practice during his media availability if he had any concerns about Nelson returning from offseason hip surgery, McCarthy responded:

I think he'll be fine with the amount of work he's had in his rehab. This is all part of the plan.

Nelson could be seen throughout practice acting almost as an additional assistant coach, even stopping to help sort out some presnap confusion.

Nelson is coming off a 98 catch, 1,519 yard performance that saw the Kansas State product score 13 touchdowns.
