McCarthy Mum On Woodson

Mike McCarthy refused to address Charles Woodson's status during his brief press conference Thursday afternoon.

Mike McCarthy had a short and not-so-sweet press conference this afternoon where he declined to talk about Charles Woodson and how he looked after hurting his ankle late in Wednesday's practice.

From the presser:

(Where’s your concern level with Woodson at this point?)
I’ll find out more tomorrow. Tomorrow will answer that question for us.

(Did he do much at all today to get a feel for anything with him?)
Not as far as information that I can stand here and tell you where he is.

(I wondered if he did rehab.)
Yeah, but I haven’t evaluated the rehab, being on the practice field. Tomorrow is a big day, as we know.

If Woodson can't go against the Lions, Sam Shields would no doubt man the corner opposite Tramon Williams with Jarrett Bush moving up to the nickel corner position.

Get well soon Charles.

The Lions WRs are not to be taken lightly even with Stanton under center. Shields will be challenge often. At least it seems Woodson should be back for the final three game stretch.

Sit Woody if it means him being ready for the final push ....... AR & the "O" will put up 40+ against the Lions ......

Unless, of course, AR starts yelling at his teammates again.

Well, Lee hurt his ankle a few weeks ago. Underwood has been on coverage units. But Bush came in at dime last week so you've got to assume he is 'next man up' so to speak.

Pat Lee injured himself while carrying groceries, aggravating an earlier injury he sustained opening a box of cereal.

It all depends on how his ankle reacts the next day. That's why it's nerve wracking.

It hurts not having him this week. But just like Jenkins, we're going to N-E-E-D them next week. Good thing is, I just see our Offense exploding this week (just a hunch).

Probably no way of knowing, but with Harris on IR (and probably calling it a career), Packers would be no better off either way. Sheilds has gotten Al's reps - should pay dividends in December.
