A live Cheesehead Nation show at Titletown Brewery? Maybe we could do this the weekend of the Bengals game...

On the blog I mentioned that I expected the Capers coached defense to be very good this year based on his past experience converting teams to the 3-4.

Mr. Greg Bedard (who I respect) stopped by and said that I should discount the Miami results since it was Sabans defense not Capers. He was there, I can't dispute that.

The two points I was try to make before I had to leave was.

The pack doesn’t have to be a top 5 defense this year to be very successful. They just have to improve from last year. I expect them to be better. I still think they will be vastly improved.

Secondly, coaches learn too. I remember when I moved to California and watched the Rams play in Anaheim. John Robinson was still the coach and drunks in the stands would yell out the plays and be right most of the time. Predictable, boring and pretty poor game planning. I did not think much of Robinson or his staffs coaching ability.

When Holmgen came to Green Bay he hired many of Robinson's staff. I had the feeling of dread. Would crappy game calling come to Green Bay? But for the most part no that staff was pretty damn good. Take Fritz he had very good game plans. Sometimes he frustrated me as a fan but he made good plans most of the time.

So I understand that Capers was not the mind behind Miami’s resurgence but I do expect Dom to have learned something from the experience.

I expect more from Dom than from Bob Sanders.
