Let the Trade Rumors Begin!

Favre to Tampa for a second rounder and Chris Simms! This on the strength of a radio show call-in with an eyewitness sighting of Favre and Tampa Bay GM Bruce Allen having dinner in Flemings.

On a side note, I also saw Ted Thompson on the subway this morning sitting next to Mike Tannenbaum, trying to hide his lips so as not to be lip-read. But the implications are clear. Favre to the Jets for a first rounder and Bubba Franks. Welcome back Bubba!

When the hell does training camp start...

This is hardly an old rumor.

That must have been Ted's clone, he's at 1265 I imagine.

Why on earth would we want Chris Simms?

My thoughts exactly...

Who says Simms/Flynn doesn't head somewhere for a DT. Take what you can get. Value, nothing more.

Or, perhaps TT isn't as confident about his CURRENT quarterback depth as he says.

I find it hard to believe that Ted Thompson would trade Favre to Tampa considering the Packers play Tampa in week 4.

That would be beyond awkward.

No, THAT would be BRILLIANT!

And you're right, PackOne, Thompson could swing another trade, but with whom? And what team interested in Simms would not just deal with Tampa?

I, of course, can't answer that. Who knows?

He comes in competes with Brohm and Flynn, someone gets hurts somewhere and that team needs depth?

I am not high on Simms either, although his numbers when healthy are okay.

My personal opinion is a little depth and a few years of experience couldn't hurt in camp.

Perhaps taking Simms also takes him away from other teams possibly thinking available QB in the NFC?

To be a fly on the wall at 1265 today ...
