isn't today the deadline to sign or the Packers can reoffer them at only 110 percent of last years pay? I could be wrong but I thought that was the deal. That would mean a possible big cut in the money offered for those still unsigned.

No, yesterday was the deadline for another team to sign them to an offer sheet. The deadline you're thinking of is June 15th.

thanks for clearing that up for me. I was wondering why there wasn't a flurry of activity yesterday.

In a related topic, I don't pay too much attention to the rest of the NFL in the offseason. Does that mean ZERO players tendered with a pick were signed away? Bell is the only player I can recall signing with someone else but he was just a first refusal tender.

Yea, a lot of RFA players and agents must have over estimated the market for them...I wonder how many of them are going to be pissed at the player's union for letting this deal expire...especially those RFA players who are in their prime now.

Like he had any other choice? Astually, I like him, but if there are 3 FB's left before the last cut one of them has to go. They can't waste that spot on a position they could use for other needs.

Aaron, I have a question that I know that you can answer. How does the time stamp work on the posts? It's obviously not Central time.

Dude I changed to Woodson, don't know why Vince is still showing on here? I had no idea that's why you were rocking Ray. I'll go in and try to change it again. Nobody should have to rock Ray.

And now the agents and Ball go at it. Let's get Jolly and Williams signed up ASAP. Get Bigby to sign an irrevocable contract that declares he doesn't play any games with his thumb up his arse (i.e. Pitt, Minn (2) and Cards).
_____
Colledge should be allowed to hold out until he returns some of last years' money.

Highly doubtful. Most of the NFL has gone away from using fullbacks at all. That's what made it all the more shocking when Thompson kept 3 last year.

"Most of the NFL has gone away from using fullbacks at all."

Not really true. Couldn't find anything from last year, but this is from 2008

Bucky Brooks:

"A team can produce a formidable rushing attack without a fullback, but having a quality lead blocker enhances its chances. It isn't a coincidence that the NFL's top 10 rushing offenses last season each featured a fullback."

"Fullbacks have been regarded as an endangered species for years, but history continues to show that they are relevant in today's NFL. With the running game back in vogue, fullbacks should continue to fight off extinction for the next few years."

NFL's top 10 rushing teams in 2008
Rk Team Yds/G TDs Primary fullback
1. Giants 157.4 19 Madison Hedgecock
2. Falcons 152.7 23 Ovie Mughelli
3. Panthers 152.3 30 Brad Hoover
4. Ravens 148.5 20 Lorenzo Neal
5. Vikings 146.1 15 Naufahu Tahi
6. Patriots 142.4 21 Heath Evans
7. Titans 137.4 24 Ahmard Hall
8. Redskins 130.9 12 Mike Sellers
9. Jets 125.2 20 Tony Richardson
10. Raiders 124.2 9 Luke Lawton
» 2008 NFL team rushing leaders

ALL had FB's that played a prominent role in the rushing game.

"SOLID" fullbacks (which Kuhn is)still have a place in the league, don't know if that will be the case in a decade though.

"and look at how old most of those guys are"

OK?

Not sure what your point is there?

Are you implying that these teams aren't going to draft/sign replacements for these "older" FB's?

Are you implying, they're just being "nice" and waiting 'till these guys "decide" to retire to switch their offensive philosophy (awww what a sweet proposition)?

I doubt it... there's always "the next guy".

WOOT!

Kuhn is a goalline package guy, Johnson is still (maybe) the power blocker. I wouldn't get too hung up on them both being tagged FBs. I don't know if Hall still has a place on the team but they like flexible players like him.

i think the thing all you cheese heads seem to forget is that ever since kory has came to green bay he has yet to play a full season. you constaltly see people on these boards banging on kuhn saying he wont make the roster an he's no good but he proved it last year that he belongs an he will do the same in 2010. so if buy chance he does get traded or cut i really hope he goes to a place where the fan base knows a little about football...

I disagree somewhat Dan about people "banging on Kuhn" - I do think fans were a bit confused with the keeping of 3 fullbacks. Kuhn is a fine player, but he's one of three fullbacks on a team that probably only needs one.
