I know special teams can win or lose a game. I know they're important. But nothing about a special teams coach being hired (or promoted) gets my blood flowing. Sorry. I guess I never thought Mike Stock was the problem. He was fine in 2007 when he had Tracy White and wasn't using guys called up from the practice squad in the middle of the season. I really think Thompson left Stock out to dry in 2008.

So I guess you're in the "If we had tracy white, we'd be going to the superbowl" camp like Mike Vandermause? He had a good line the other day, here it is:

"White, who was picked up by the Philadelphia Eagles and will be playing in the NFC championship game this weekend."

That takes balls (and no brains) to insinuate that the Eagles are deep in the playoffs because of Tracy White and GB was 6-10 because of it.

Mike Stock was a bad coach, who could not adjust when he didn't have great special teamers, which he still had this year like Desmond Bishop,etc.

Let me ask you this, if you had a guy on your special team unit who missed tackle after tackle, what would you do? You'd probably replace him or put him elsewhere on the unit to where he couldn't kill you, right? Stock never did that with Jarrett Bush, who led the team in special teams missed tackles.

It's easy to have great special teams when you have a lot of guys like White and Bishop, but what do you do when things get tough? You adapt! Or fail. We know which one Stock did.

RANT OVVVAAAHHH!!

Dale - I saw that line as well and laughed out loud. It was hilarious.

I am by no means saying that Tracy White was the end all be all. I am saying that the players make special teams, much more than coaches. When Jermichael Finley is on kick COVERAGE? You've got problems.
