Jarrett Bush Open to Playing Safety

Jarrett Bush Open to Playing Safety

With the lack of safety depth on the roster, the Packers might be looking for Jarrett Bush to spend sometime at the position.

At a recent tailgate tour stop, Justin Felder from Fox 11 spoke with Bush regarding the move.

"I have played safety in the past, I have played every position in the secondary. If I were thrown in a safety, I wouldn't lose a step, I wouldn't miss a beat....Any spot. The corner spot or the nickel spot. I'm a competitor, I'm going to go in there and compete like I am the starter."

Bush went on to say,

"I'm definitely looking forward to stepping up my role this year on defense as the nickel or corner. Just have to go and prove it. I'm very focused, I feel like more than last year, because I've got more experience underneath my belt, so I've just got to go out there and prove it."

Wierd, I just happen to put him at safety on my prjected 53 2 days ago. Never been a bush fan actualyl but unlike overrated mdjennings he does bring some versitality. My only change might be the TE out of Ohio state making it somehow.

Bush is an outstanding special teams player, tough as nails, and all about the team. However, whether it be CB or Safety when the ball is in the air he can't find it with a GPS device. As the combination of salary/age goes up each year he will need to fight for his job even harder (why the kid from Iowa was drafted). He has survived for 7 season in the NFL, that is quite an accomplishment no matter where you play.

i've been an advocate of switching bush to safety for at least like 3 years, due mainly to the fact that when the action is in front of him, he plays very well...imo.

if we had switched him 3 years ago, maybe he'd be a decent starting option by now...but fine ted, lets do EVVVERYTHING you want to do...
