Hawk Shows Up

As someone who's been a consistent critic of AJ Hawk, I would be remiss if I didn't at least acknowledge what a good game he had yesterday. Rewatching it last night, I couldn't find a negative play from Hawk on any of his snaps.

The problem seems to be consistency in his 'getting up' for a game. I hate even writing about something so abstract (and yes, I've written about it before) but for whatever reason, Hawk rarely brings his emotions to the fore during a game. But when he does, he always seems to have a great game. Now, while he'll deny reading any of the things written about him this past week, about his limited snaps or about his perceived phasing-out in general, you have to think it played a bit of a role in the mission he seemed to be on Sunday afternoon.

So, as a plead to every beat writer out there, please, let's have some more about what a disappointment Hawk is/has been. The Packers need every bit of rage and emotion they can get from the guy this Sunday against Adrian Peterson.

Maybe we should trade for Brady Quinn. Hawk always plays well when his brother-in-law is present.

No negative plays? What about that one toss to the left, where Clay seals a seam, Barnett seals one, and Hawk is nowhere to be found. I think it was an 11 yard gain.

He had a very good game, I'm not saying he didn't. But not that great of a game IMO.

He got blocked - it happens. But you're right, I'm probably grading on a curve. ;)

Hawk's fine. Wouldn't mind seeing Bishop though. How come they didn't play Bishop late like they did Flynn?

The thing to remember on that play, PackersRS - the other team gets paid, too. Sometimes the other team does their job better than you do yours, hopefully, most of the time it is the other way around.
