Frank Winters Calls Brett Favre One of Top Five NFL Players Ever

Former Packers center Frank Winters was a guest speaker Tuesday evening for the Marshview Conservation Club’s annual dinner banquet at the Rangeline Inn in Kohler, Wis.

One of the topics Winters discussed was his former teammate, Brett Favre, as quoted at PackersNews.com:

“In my opinion, he was probably one of the top five players to ever play the game. He was a special person, special individual, and hopefully they can get this thing worked out here in the upcoming months and get him back to Green Bay where he deserves to go into the Hall of Fame and to the NFL Hall of Fame."

Does Brett really want to subject himself to the plethora of BOOS he will get from the majority of the fan base who still feel betrayed ?

Doesn't sound like a good move for the pack or Brett.

I can thank him enough for bringing the pack back to respectability but majority of fans are still pissed he hasn't apologized directly for the cluster fuck he caused.

I hope fans wouldn't boo him. Time to move on.

If I'm there, I'll boo.

Until I hear an apology to the GB Packer fans, I'll be sore.

NFL is a business, but Bert never acknowledged and/or apologized for being disrespectful to a very supportive fan base during and after his departure.

I'll "move on" when Bert fesses up to being an ass.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. With only a fair yards-per-attempt all time for all QB's compared to their peers, and a poor INT% for all QB's compared to peers, Favre isn't even in the top 5 QB's much less ALL players. Favre is about the 17th best QB all time, about the 85th best player, and the 4th best Packer. All of these are well within HoF %'s, by the way, so there's no bashing involved by throwing out these rankings. But there's a big difference between 5th and 85th. Too many great players ahead of Favre and that's just the way it is.
