Finley\'s Frustration

Sunday night was supposed to be Jermichael Finley's arrival as a playmaking weapon in the NFL. Thanks, mostly, to Adewale Ogunleye's demolishment of Alan Barbre, that didn't quite happen.

I'm sure everyone has seen this, but in case you missed it, I'm happy to report that Jermichael was at least able to take out some of his frustration directly at the source. That's Finley coming down in motion and ending up right next to Barbre and right across from Ogunleye. Enjoy:

Jeez he made that look easy.

I like that he's frustrated(and not shocked at all). I want him to always want more and not shrug it off like Jay "meh what can ya do" Cutler.

Edit - 1. Props to the coaching staff for adjusting to a player's failings. 2. Wynn was there to help block as well. Talk about losing faith in Barbre. lol. Next play probably had Kuhn as 3rd backup blocker.

How are you capping these vids, Aaron? They're solid quality.

Aaron,

That's the play I referenced earlier in the week. Looking at it again, Finley's block seems to catch Ogunleye completely by surprise. I have trouble wondering why that is: it seems to me when a TE lines up over the shoulder of a DE (especially a DE who's been abusing the OT opposite him), he's gotta be loooking for that chip block.

After reading Barbres' excuse machine this week, I would play this clip and the one of Lee doing something similar to that lump day and night. This week Barbre goes up against Robert Geathers who is more a power rush guy. If this test fails trouble is on the horizon. GB has no one to back him up. Breno is even worse. Switching the line around and they're back to 2008. This problem existed all last year and in the off season nothing was done to fix it. Their one FA turned into a bust (I should day Oline FA). There are two rookies slated at other positions on the depth chart, but they are rookies and weren't trained at tackle. That leaves one option - they need to get Taucsher or another jounryman tackle in ASAP. And to add another negative shot, Clifton coming off surgery is always going to be high risk. Will he last the year? Who will replace him?

If they keep the TE and FB in on every play again, there goes the Finleys' chance to make a mark.

Awesome clip. But I don't know how well that bodes for Barbre.

It's nice to see Finley get a chance to vent his frustration on a Bear, especially.
