Really no bad this week, great game. Atlanta is a complete team, Pack would be a complete team if it could run the ball.

Grant's injury maybe too big to over come. I don't think Lynch would have added anything.

MM needs to get a serviceable running game installed before the playoffs, if we make it there. Looks like we are in the wild card race if the Bears continue to play as well as they are, they are for real and are getting better every week.

I'd put Shields on both the good and the ugly.

Holly's pre-game noted that double coverage on Jennings should mean a big game for James Jones. Where was he?

I'm curious, what specifically is getting MM in the Ugly category? Is it the non-challenge? We had three very long drives, including a 90-yarder at the end to tie it, so play calling couldn't be that terrible. Some of the goal-line play calls were a bit curious, including the QB sneaks, but is that enough to get you in the Ugly category?

He took his team down to the wire on the road against one of the best teams in the NFL and lost mainly due to a few plays that were out of his control. I'm not saying he had a great day, but I'm not sure it merits Ugly. Maybe I'm just misremembering though...

10 carries for 26 yards by a single back. No running game consistency. His love for all things "Big 5" all the time.....forgoing a run threat. Deactivating Donald Lee. Did I mention McCarthy hates to run the ball? That's what earns him the ugly.

I really thought Aaron played well, but anyone who fumbles in the end zone doesn't get a good. He might not get a bad either.

I realize it doesn't apply to our game per se, but I'd give the Eagles an ugly. Stupid Eagles.

Can't really argue with any of it. The Miami and Washington losses are looming very large at the moment, and they will do nothing but get bigger as this year goes on.

i would put special teams in the ugly. they have been ugly in all 4 of our losses!

Add Quinn Johnson to the bad in my book. He could have been better in short yardage, he blocked a td pass meant for Quarless, and let Rodgers fumble slip through his hands. The last one may be a bit harsh, but it seemed like he pushed it into the end-zone.

Quarless may have had his most consistent game as a pro. It may have been his best game to date if Quinn Johnson doesn't block that pass.

I agree, the ugly is McCarthy, no matter how "good" the game was. Gotta win games like these if you want to win it all.

How about Bad = LB/Special Teamer Col. Wilhelm (Klink) for clanking that claw to the facemask on the final kickoff? Send him to the Russian Front!

Ok, I was at the game, just finally got home, and this is what I took from it:

1. The Falcons, although I'm sure they are now considered the "best" team in the NFL, are not as good as the Packers. Their defense is horrible and their secondary is weak. Their offense is predictable, and only the refs and a couple of boneheaded plays(like not covering TONY EFFING GONZALEZ in the end zone) gave them the opportunity to score. There is no doubt in my mind that the Packers beat the Falcons 99 times out of 100. The talent disparity was quite obvious.

2. Aaron Rodgers is incredible, and you can't play man defense against him without a spy anymore, unless you want to give up an automatic 7-15 yards. He is also unaffected by pressure. That pass at the end of the final drive was immaculate. Watching him control an offense is like watching a composer write a song. His brain never stops working, and he finds ways to orchestrate big plays.

3. The Packers are going to the playoffs, and when they do, they will destroy the Falcons if they play again. I don't think the Falcons will win their division despite a cream-puff schedule and a 1 game lead. I think they finish 12-4, but end up a game behind or lose a tiebreaker with the Saints. As long as the Packers take care of business, they will win the North and likely host the rematch game.

4. I have no idea why no one has beaten the Falcons at home yet. It's a complete fluke. Their crowd is actually pretty stupid. They stood and cheered while their offense was in the red zone! The only advantage they WOULD have would be running on the fast track, except that they don't have a lot of team speed! It makes no sense, and the place doesn't scare me at all. Like I said, 99 times out of 100, the Packers win that game today.

I was very upset that they didn't replay a close up of the Falcon's first field goal... I can't believe they would not show an instant reply for something so close. They were very quick to go to commercial.

Saddest thing is, Aaron Rodgers is the clutchest person on this team.
And, for my money, he is a top 5 QB.

Once again Teddy Thompson shows us what a moron for a GM is. Early in the season when Ryan Grant goes down, he sits pat with Brandon Jackson, and picks up a worthless Dimitri Nance. A running game could have easily won the game yesterday. Everybody describes our Pack as one-dimensional. So, a two-dimensional team meets a one dimensional and don't be surprised we lose such close games. Thanks Teddy, you are so "smart".

This game was extremely disheartening.
We can not run the ball. It is pathetic.

Rodgers was awesome but his fumble was THE GAME. from that point on the Packers were the ones chasing. There was never a time when the falcons HAD to score to keep pace. They got to play from ahead - which allowed them to stay composed and balanced.

McCarthy was horrible.

-shoulda challenged the spot after Rodgers' slide.
-shoulda challenged the gonzo catch on 4th down (no risk - had all his TO's)
-2 qb sneaks at the goal line (wow)
-completely abandoned the run game. Yes, I understand it wasn't going anywhere but you still have to make an attempt. Even though that flee flicker "worked", I had a feeling the game was over when they ran it. They had tried to run the play before and got stuffed. I feel they should have slammed it in there again. The flicker call was MM declaring "UNCLE"... pussy.

Hard to find any positives after this one. Now we're just one of the "hopefuls" scrumbling for a wild card spot.

I think they'll make the playoffs. But, as I've said before, I don't give 2 shits about the playoffs. This doesn't look like a title contender.

With the level of talent on the O why is this team only socring two touchdowns on some of these games? No reason anyone should be stopping this offense even if it's one dimensional. There's more than enought passing talent to offset and even set up a running game, which features three FBs, by the way. Low scoring going into the fourth quarter stresses a weakend D.
GB is now in the position of having to wait for other teams to fold (assuming they can win the next five) with only five games left. That is a losing posture. Better forget about any super bowl dreams. This team is not ready.

Saints fan here, trust me Pack fans the Falcons have benefited from bounces, calls, health, pretty much everything going their way this season and despite that still their BIGGEST win is 6 points over the Bucs. They have actually been outscored against the playoff teams they have played. When i try to point out the FACTS to them though they go crazy. They are a good team thats for sure but they arent 9-2 good. They could just as easily be 6-5 or worse. The Saints have been through the type of injury rash you guys have and the Falcons had last year with the same exact team and didnt make the playoffs and cried about injuries all season but now my Saints (and your guys Packers) have done what they couldnt and survived the injuries and are still only a game behind them despite them being fully healthy all year. Everyone is acting like they won the SB when their season isnt that impressive at all, and nothing compared to my Saints (hell even this year with the injuries my Saints have beaten 2 of the 3 playoff teams we have faced by double digits,the Falcons havent beaten one by more then 6 points WITH full health).
