I don’t think it was ugly. Zero turnovers 1 sack, very few penalties, good tackling. That’s my kind of jam.

Less than 3 minutes into the second quarter......not onl had we already scored enough points to win, but Chicago never again snapped the ball with a chance to win or tie.

Ugly? No. This offense is designed to keep Arod upright and healthy for the duration and that’s going to mean runs, short passes, and some throwaways. But it’s working when it’s executed correctly.

Up 21-3 on the Bears and then the Packers’ offense takes their foot off the gas pedal and goes conservative...trying not to loose...and putting it all on the defense to stop Chicago. Same as Mike McCarthy.

Then Dean Lowery should have been the hero with an interception giving the Packers the ball in field goal range. Rodgers proceeds to do the one thing on third down he should no way have done...take a sack on 3rd down and put the Packers out of FG range. To see a veteran QB do that after the Lowery pick was just pathetic! Game should have been over early in the 4th except Rodgers could not complete one 3rd down pass over five yards to get a first down and seal this game.

Rodgers has got to throw a lot better than 16-33 (48%) for the Packers to have any chance against the Vikings or in the playoffs. And yes, I know there were 2-3 drops, but he was inaccurate on multiple passes...like the first one deep. 50% passing with really good pass protection by the O-Line is totally unacceptable for an elite QB. His play is very concerning going forward. He was however, getting some of his passes off more quickly, which is a step in the right direction.

I agree with most of what you said except Rodgers accuracy. There was actually 5 drops and the pass to mvs was litterally perfect, you actually couldnt throw it any better. His decision making is questionable but his accuracy is fine(not the same as it used to be) but fine.

You make a couple of very compelling points that I would have to agree with.

Drops and some that he just threw away instead of holding on to it.

I think he’s on target most of the time.

Fans, the Packers are in the playoffs after a two year drought. As far as winning ugly goes, standing outside in freezing weather and trying to make catches and throws against one of the better defenses in the league, in a NFL environment, is much easier said than done. Sure the 4th quarter could have been played much better, but baby we are in and that counts in my book.

Next weeks contest will be a much better barometer of our playoff chances and how we will stack up going forward. Shoot, just a little over three months ago hardly anyone picked the Packers to even have a 8-8 record let alone make it to the dance. Right now we are dancing, as long as we are dancing we have a chance.

Again its a win. Bears looked like crap and that helped a lot. Next week who cares. All the pack have to do is beat the lions.
The Vikes looked very strong in their Chargers game going on all cylinders on defense and offense.
