I think the only one who cares about the hierarchy is Tom Silverstein.

No shit. It's like he's making it his career to question everything Murphy does.

Good job. Dumping the old article and going with this lead subject. I agree.

It's true that if they win no one outside the organization will care about the power structure. It is also true that businesses have been ruined by hierarchy structures that were built the wrong way for the wrong reasons. What if they win the Super Bowl and someone comes knocking on MLFs door? He says to himself, "I've got a QB at the end of his career and a front office that hamstrings me." If he is any good he won't stick around. I've seen good people walk away from organizations structured around the egos of 1 or 2 people.

Everybody loves a winner.

We've missed the playoffs for two straight years. We've made a lot of changes. We're putting all of our eggs in the basket of a 36 year old QB with an injury history.

If we win, everybody is going to be happy. If we don't, there's going to be more changes. Murphy's term is up first. IF we don't win, it's logical to assume we'll make a change there.

Gutekunst is only in his second year, but if we don't win, the pressure will fall on him next.

" We're putting all of our eggs in the basket of a 36 year old QB with an injury history."

And we FINALLY put some eggs into the Offense Line. Signing Billy Turner and drafting Jenkins are excellent moves to make sure our 36 year old QB isn't hammered 53 times a season. IMO it doesn't matter if your 36 or 26, getting the crap pounded out of you 53 times a season the body WILL break down. It never helped either that McCarthy never gave his tackles any help either, even during the times it was obvious help was needed....

I'm glad that we strengthened the offensive line, and it was needed after having done almost nothing the previous year.

If you give the tackles help, it takes a receiver out of the pattern. The Packers, under McCarthy, thought their best offense was to get as many receivers in the pattern as possible and let Rodgers deal with the pressure. For many years, Rodgers was the best in the business at beating the blitz.

Getting hit hurts, but 26 year olds recover faster than 36 year olds. I think we've been foolish to not get a backup we can win games with.
