But I gotta say, this time I'd love for them to be right, he should have been fired following the 2020 draft.

Why does he deserve sympathy?
Why would he think he did something?
Does he really believe this about him on a personal level?
Can he not see this about Rodgers and the FO and many decisions?
Has he begun to build a false ego from this mess?

I have no reason to feel any level of 'sorry' for Love.

The whole "heads up" complaint seems like BS to me - if it wasn't that it would be something else.

In fact, I seem to remember some mention from the GM that they could pick a QB before the draft.

Nagler thinking SB while MLF recently said he doesn't care about SB's.

“I’d like to keep every conversation that Aaron and I have had up to this point between us,” LaFleur said. “I know the report’s out there. But this guy’s our quarterback, man. He’s our leader of our team. I want nothing more than to see him back in a Packer uniform. In my eyes, he’s the greatest to ever do it. I don’t care about Super Bowls or whatnot. But we want him back here.” MLF

Sounds like what some of us readily accept about the FO, 'Winning is all that matters, being the 'WINNER", is not the goal. This also confirms, if only in sentiment, what Rodgers is upset about, not doing what is needed to be the WINNER, whether the Love selection, defense, or a true number two WR.

The argument will be the back-to-back 13-3 seasons, but it falls meaningless when you understand that only one TEAM stands in the victory boat, and all others are the rowers. The Packers simply sit in the 2nd row of oarsmen, but rowers nonetheless. MLF sounds like he's perfectly fine holding the bullhorn for his rowers chanting, 'We may not be the WINNER, but we're winning the seat for the second row of oarsmen'.

"I do not think that word means what you think it means."

MLF is saying, "I know some people will say Brady is the best QB ever because of his Super Bowl rings. I don't care what they say. I still believe Rodgers is the best ever."

It's absurd to suggest that this is an admission from MLF that he is not committed to winning Super Bowls.

So, you take it as being OK that saying he's the best should be enough for fans and accept that the SB is of no bearing. If so, then why is the TITLETOWN mantra even being recognized as that which separates GB from others? Shouldn't the mantra be, we had/have the Best and Titles mean nothing, which comes back to MLF and the FO not caring about SBs.

My point is that under no circumstance should those words come from the mouth of any HC or FO person.

Do you think Brady gives a shit whether Rodgers is deemed a better QB, NO, because he has WON 7 of Ten trips to that glorious FINAL game, while Rodgers sits at one? That makes Brady the WINNER and the BEST QB to play the game and will be enshrined as the greatest HOF'er ever.

You can sit back and believe how much better Rodgers was than Brady all for and as long as you wish, but Rodgers' residence will always be with the one-and-done QB's and below ELI in the WINNER category, and where he'll remain while in GB.

No one with half a football brain thinks that Terry Bradshaw is tied with Joe Montana as the second best quarterback ever, or that only four QBs in history were better than Eli Manning, or that Trent Dilfer, Joe Flacco and Brad Johnson are among the 35 best QBs in NFL history. That's just stupid, but I guess you can believe it if you want to.

Matt LaFleur believes that Aaron Rodgers is best QB to play the game. You are free to disagree with him. But in no conceivable way, shape or form do MLF's words suggest or imply that MLF doesn't care about winning Super Bowls. They just don't.

Beyond that, I'm not going to argue against your wacky lack of logic.

You continue to be unable to separate talent from being a WINNER. Brady plays to be a winner with every fiber of his talent. Rodgers plays to be the most notable player first and foremost, and his talent, which has been lacking in many of the playoffs and NFCCG's verifies this thinking.

MLF essentially said SB wins don't matter as long as you have a QB with more talent.

You can have all the talent, but if you're missing the character needed to be a WINNER, you won't be the WINNER. Apparently, this team is missing that part, and when you dismiss winning the SB as being relevant, well, the results speak to it. Don't worry, the oarsmen seat is reserved again this season.

Oooh, wait! I know this one!

If Leatherhead were starting his theoretical team, he would feel totally comfortable grabbing Brad Johnson instead of Aaron Rodgers, because Johnson is just as good an option. I mean after all, Johnson won as many Super Bowls as any of those others.

What's that? It wouldn't even occur to you that you should take Johnson? Cuz you would have to be crazy?

Right.

When a coach says I don't care about super bowls it's true. Because all a coach cares about is this week's game. Next week's game is not until next week.

In general, though this whole QB is a winner if his team wins and a loser if it doesn't, is just silly bunk made up for the internet to argue about. A team wins or loses. Eli Manning won two super bowls because the Giants defense held the Patriots to under 20 points both times. SO Eli Manning is a better QB because his defenses were so good? That's just, sIlly internet crap. Is Jim kelly a better QB if his field goal kicker can kick it straight? Terry Bradshaw is a WINNER because a batted ball was plucked out of the air and taken for an improbable TD? I could make a few thousand examples to show that the difference between winning and losing is usually some tiny moment. I know it won't change your mind on anything I just differ in what I watch sports for than you. If the only thing I cared about is a title, I would have given up watching sports long ago. I frankly cannot figure out what motivates you to put yourself through the torture your comments appear to indicate watching the Packers remains for you.

You really laid down the law this time. Spot on.

I completely fail to understand these "fans" who think that nothing except the SB matters. In that case, they should not be watching any regular season games or playoff games... just tune in for the Super Bowl, and that too only if their team is playing. Saves them a lot of time. Keeps their blood pressure under control. Protects their kidney/liver...

Better still, don't watch the beginning of the SB game. Ask someone to call them (or maybe bonking these boneheads would be better) in the last few seconds only if their team is leading by 2 scores (to ensure that the game would not suddenly turn around).

Packers are always one play away from no AR. Now, for the first time in how long? they have someone with enough talent to fill in if he goes down. AR would rather have his team fail if he goes down just to show how important he is. Sickness.

egbertsouse,
Optimism, LOL, no!
To think they'd even make the playoffs with Love would be pure fantasy and absolute proof that God has a (really twisted) sense of humor!
The Superbowl itself is a fantasy as long as Gutekunst is with the organization, he proved it with his 2020 draft and then again this off-season. So much for "team chemistry", which is supposed to include management.

Anyone else feeling like the wind is out of our sails? What a mess, from the frying pan into the fire, from dumb to dumber, a means to an end, and I can't think of any more cliches right now.
The Three Stooges, Murphy, Gurtekunst, and Ball, are destroying this team, I said it when power grabber Murphy restructured the system and I'll say it again, he thinks real estate will cement his Packers legacy, I think not.
Gutekunst is an idiot, a Ted Thompson a$$ kisser, in the same mold, he was trained by Thompson and it shows. He could build a 50 room mansion in one of Ron Wolf's shoes with room for 3 football fields to spare and still not fill it. He proved it a year ago with the most stupid draft in Packers' history since the Tony Mandarich fiasco, but even then, Mandarich was coveted by other teams, Love was a 3rd rounder.
And then Ball, pfft, the let's give contracts to Lowery and King and then mess with Aaron Rodgers guy, yeah that guy, that Ball, the so-called contract guru!
But hey, they all report to Murphy, so let's put the fault where it lies, at the top, the real estate mogul, the guy too busy riding around in a motor home, singin' Kumbayah with his pals and ignoring the fact the The Green Bay Packers are a football organization.
Fire them all and get a real football guy back running the organization.

Do any of you think about another trade. That trade would put AR in deep thinking. Because, he will know that he will fall from horse to donkey.

I say only avceptable trade for Packers is with Texans. AR for Deshaun Watson and 1st pick 2022 draft.

It will give some time to evaluate JL and see what they have and will give them opportunity to have excellent (not the besr maybe, but still) talent at QB.

I still prefere AR, but if he will be stubborn, itnis better to show the respect tomother players in the locker room than trying to satisfx Diva...

Are you off the Love is the future bandwagon?
You would take Watsons' contract which will put GB in cap hell for even longer, and it states Love was a huge mistake and a reason they lost Rodgers?

Following the Packers draft strategy last year, it's probably a good thing that the Packers got their QB when the getting was good because this year's draft featured quite the QB food fight! And rumor has it, nobody stands out in next year's class. I think it was good move to draft a QB last year based upon the previous couple of years (and AR is no spring chicken anymore). Now look at the mess we made! Just trying to do the right thing for the Packer organization!

I really liked this draft and I really like our chances of winning the SB, especially when you add in our other weapons (Funchess, Deguara, Sternberger) who will be returning! Of course, this means AR returns and leads the Pack to glory! I believe that the Packers drafted with confidence that AR will be back.

Should he leave, buckle up, things could get real ugly for the Pack! I hope that there will be a veteran QB in the trade because JL is probably traumatized by this whole situation! He could most certainly benefit by sitting another year. AR might not be one of the best ever had he not sat and learned for three years.

Go Pack!

The great AR12 started off on the losing foot (season). He didn't magically become the MVP when Favre left. No, it takes work, it takes time.

This off season is going to get worse before it gets better. Gute made a mess of this team. To say Rodgers will play one more year is looking far fetch. In 2019 the 13-3 Packers were destroyed twice by a SF team that was superior to GB in every aspect except QB. Ditto in 2020, this time against TB. With Rodgers at QB, the Packers are a strong playoff contender but in no way a Super Bowl contender. Without Rodgers, they are a weak division contender. No reason not to be happy with a playoff contender as a fan, but to keep trumpeting that GB is headed to the Super Bowl given the front office performance in player acquisition year in and year out is fantasy.
