His tape looks good for the role intended.

I don't see why we needed to draft a backup QB with two of them already, but this guy fits well..

"He must have had a lot of good tape holding a clipboard and fetching Gatorade then."

You might be confusing that with our head coaches responsibilities, but you didn't mention cheer leading so I might be wrong.

Mr Aaron everyone knows you weren’t going to come out and say anything negative towards Gute’s draft but you didn’t need to, your first twenty seconds said it all. All the comments you made about this draft are the typical comments made by fans that know their team had a bummer of a draft. I’d be willing to bet you still think the 2020 draft was a huge success. I’d also bet you think the jury is still out on that one. LoL

A Lafluer offense is what Bak tried to tell you and what LaFluer did when his first got here. It doesn’t rely on the QB as much it’s running the ball with plays off of plays, misdirection and all the things we saw the the first 3 yrs before Rodgers gave his input. I’m sorry but that what it is in a nutshell. It a system that SF uses. Notice how Garoppallo won games only throwing 138 yards but yet they still won a ton of games?? It’s a Shanahan system that Rodgers didn’t like. That’s the best way I can explain it. It’s why they have multiple large TEs. and are shoring up defense and special teams.

No one can really make the argument that they didn’t plug holes in this draft. Plus, when Tramon williams came on the show…he said what was said earlier…Rudy ford, Nixon possibly Rasul are capable of playing safety and maybe an FA can come in or Amos stays…who knows. But like Tramon…I don’t think the secondary was the weakest part of this team.

Now, having said that. I did want them to take a DL higher, probably with that #5 pick. But at the same time who was out there for veteran QBs that would be effective, cheap…not many.If Clemens is still there…he’ll coach em up.

I like the idea of staying pat with existing DBs. There was plenty of talent last year. I don't understand keeping the DC.

We'll see how the DL does, Gutey went for a type.

I actually like the potential of the 7th round S and CB and also the UDFAs. A little inexperienced, but show raw talent. They have upside and athleticism. Could be one or two prove nice depth and develop.

You can't win the MVP this offense. It's probably why Rodgers bucked the system.?

It was just more of an age and salary and not wanting to be a part of a rebuild. I’m thinking cap money and a future was a factor, LaFluer was a factor, young team was a factor. In Rodgers mind, the packers were moving on, he believe the Jets are playoff ready, hackett is there etc…Now, will they make past Buffalo? Who knows.

4thand10 WINS ALL THE PRIZES TODAY!

Well done, man!

We haven’t seen LaFleur’s offensive scheme because we had a gigantic cockblock wearing #12 doing whatever TF he wanted at QB1.

That’s one BIG reason I’m giving LaFleur all the latitude he needs. Felt he was Head Coaching under duress his entire tenure, which is not a truly fair condition in evaluating his own performance.

Give the man his due. If he starts throwing Lombardiesque numbers around again, without AR? You’ll know we got a gem as a HC.

I think this ship rights itself and takes off this season. Should be fun to watch the Packers beat the shit out of SF and Philly to meet NYJ in the Super Bowl to win it all.

Shock the world, Packers.

"That’s one BIG reason I’m giving LaFleur all the latitude he needs. Felt he was Head Coaching under duress his entire tenure, which is not a truly fair condition in evaluating his own performance. "

So his undying loyalty to Mo Drayton and Joe Barry was due to AR? Or changing the OL assignments going into the biggest game of the year 2 years in a row? Or his keeping Hanson and Newman on the OL when they weren't even effective turnstiles? Sure, LaFleur can't be completely evaluated for his offense and play calling, but there's plenty of evidence that as a manager he is not top 30 material (as in one of the NFL jobs). I'd be fine with him as our OC, but he really needs a lot of improvement as a manager/head coach.

Yes, LaFleur has questions that aren’t on Rodgers. We are going to get answers to both kinds now though.

GG,
I'm optimistic and positive myself and think the Packers will have a winning season in 2023. Iif Gutey hit on the draft picks like I think he did combined with two #1's next year (LOL) I'm looking at the 2024 season where Detroit, Philly, KC, and pretty much everyone better stay on their toes. Truly believe this team is going to bounce back and surprise as these young players gain experience.

Ya but Frisco also stopped the other teams from putting up points because they had one of the best defenses in football, pass rush and linebackers. We dont have that here.

I will tell you I just watched one of the very best videos I have seen done on a Packer player. If you want to get to know Jayden Reed this is the video and you will be rooting big time for the guy. Lost his dad at 15 years of age, but the story is very interesting. Jayden is a very classy & mature young man who is going to be an asset both on the field but in the locker room. I have a better idea of what the Packers saw in him from watching this video:

Reed was on the 49ers’ radar - SMART MOVE by Gutekunst to jump up and grab him maybe a round early.

If any team had the picks, and could afford to do that, it’s the Packers. I like aggressively getting your guys anyways. Get the players that make your O, D, ST systems successful.

Thanks, Knock. I’ll be watching that one when I get home.

Knock….thanks for sharing. I really think the Packers take into consideration character of a person and that at times means they might move a person up from where the pundits think because of who he is as a person. I agree that can make a big difference in the locker room. Jayden is a team player and I’m happy he’s a packer.

Jordan Love lost his mentor & Dad when he was 12. Love seems to have abundant class and maturity too. Hope the two Packers hit it off on and off the field.

I think young Jordan Love is going to Love his young, talented receivers. (say that fast 3 times:-)

Reed has a lot in common with Greg Jennings. Same height, weight, played a ton in college, caught a boatload of footballs, 4.45ish fast enough to make excellent route running successful on the perimeter, both very productive college players. Greg was 30% more productive...but Jayden got his stats playing mostly in the B1G.

Watson, Doubs, Reed, Musgrave, Kraft and Love are all going to grow up in the NFL together.

Who has the most pressure on them next year?
I'm looking at you Joe Barry.

Barry has no excuses for not getting this defense to Top 10 status. He has #1 picks littering that side of the ball. He needs to get it done or he should be gone.

If Barry fails, LaFleur is going to have to be so stellar it will be one hell of an offense or a long overdue house cleaning,

If Barry has a bottom 20 Defense, MLF better counter with a top 10 O offense or both should be looking for work. ("should" be looking for work, because with Acting GM Murphy, who knows?)

The unfortunate situation is the offense may struggle early as Love takes over with a revised offense. A dominant Defense, as the Packers squad SHOULD be, needs to help carry the team...not add to its struggles.

But MLF decided this narrow path with Barry in the name of "consistency" on Defense, whatever that means.

Gotta like the 2 tight ends picked. Rodgers seldom threw over the middle in recent years, so it would be nice to go to the rookie right ends to move the chains.

One major objective was to build up the DL.

Montgomery probably has never has such a good group to coach: Kenny, Wyatt, Slayton, Ford, Wooden and Brooks...with an ocassional rotation in from Van Ness.

Wooden is intriguing. Talent galore with a reputation of being a "coaches dream" that no one will outwork.

But Brooks is a guy I believe may be starting with Kenny and Wyatt. Here's a prototypical 5 tech for a 3-4 DT that generated eye popping college production from the Edge! That should be against the rules. Wait until he moves inside Gary, Preston, Van Ness or Enagbare.

Last note: lots of high RAS scores in this class...ironically the two the lowest RAS scores, Reed and Wooden, will probably get nearly as many snaps as the high RAS prospects.

Based upon what Jon-Eric Sullivan said, they believe that his RAS is very much higher. A 4.37 40 alone would transform it.

I've seen where his 40-yard is anywhere from 4.36/7 to about 4.45. Everyone keeps mentioning his speed and he looks more the 4.36/7 than the 4.45.
