Equanimeous St. Brown reportedly suffers high-ankle sprain
The second year wide receiver was injured in Thursday night's preseason game against the Raiders.

The ugly injury that knocked out Equanimeous St Brown from last night's preseason contest against the Oakland Raiders is apparently not quite as bad as most thought immediately following the play in question.
It will be interesting to see how the Packers handle this. He could make the 53 and then be placed on injured reserve, so that he might be brought back later in the year, if they want to give him an additional six weeks to heal up from what is often an injury that can linger for awhile.
If he is placed on IR prior to the cutdown to 53, however, his season would be over.

That was a nasty hit, I was worried ESB had an ACL afterwards.
If number 25 from the Raiders gets to stay in the game, what is the purpose of the ejection rule?

The Raiders are still a dirtbag team. Multiple helmet-to-helmet hits, facemarks and horse-collars last night in a meaningless game.

It wasn't a cheap shot. ESB just went to the ground more quickly than the saftey was reading it. The game isn't played in slow motion

He lead with his head down. It's an illegal hit. The flag was immediately thrown by the ref.

It was a good route by ESB, on the break his foot caught the turf and twisted as he went down trying to get his foot out of the turf, and then he got hit head to head. ESB was going down to protect himself, there was no need for hard contact. Not a bang, bang play either, would not be surprised if the Packers team doctors put him in the concussion route just to be safe.

The Pack should put him on IR after 53 man squad is set so he can return. Then keep Davis, Shepherd and Lazard for the season. Acme Packing did a good article on keeping guys with varying skills. I agree

Any of these players would need to clear waivers in order for the Packers to reclaim them after EQ was put on IR. I wouldn't risk it. Put him on IR now and let him have the whole season to heal.
I am amazed that he not more severely injured.

Good to hear that ESB does not have a concussion or a neck injury. The Packers should put him on IR after final 53 is settled and have him available to return if we need him later in the season.
High ankle sprain could be a troublesome injury. I hope he recovers reasonably quickly. Thanks, Since ‘61

'61, "High ankle sprain could be a troublesome injury.". You can say that again. I had one in college and kept re-spraining it for the next two years (of course, I never had it professionally taped, lol). It's amazing to me how fast some players heal. I hope ESB is one of those. I remember how Davante's entire season was messed up with his ankle sprain and his off the charts footwork wasn't as good and it lost him his confidence, he started dropping balls and some began that stupid "Dropvante" nickname. I see some people in the comments section saying to IR ESB now, but you've correctly stated that it needs to be after the 53. I seem to recall TGR explaining waiver issues with calls for doing this to a player in another thread and I believe ESB could be claimed if done now.

However you want to say it, I think Kumerow starts in the slot. Much better feel for the game compared to G-Mo in my opinion. MVS starts opposite of Adams, G-Mo/Shep/Davis battle for playing time at 4

I'd put Moore on the practice squad. He has all the skills and no confidence he can catch the ball. Time on the PS could cure that and he could turn into a terrific receiver. Well worth the investment of a PS spot.
