David Bakhtiari will start camp on physically unable to perform list

The Packers starting left tackle is recovring from a torn ACL suffered in practice late last season.

Per the league's transaction wire, Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari will start training camp on the Physically Unable To Perform list.

The All-Pro left tackle did individual rehab work off to the side earlier this offseason during OTAs and minicamp. The Packers starter looked surprisingly nimble just five months after surgery to repair a torn ACL.

Bakhtiari tore the ACL during a late December practice just before the team’s Week 17 game against the Bears. His absence from the Packers’ postseason run was a big reason for the Packers coming up short against the Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game.

Players can be moved off the PUP list to the active roster at any time prior to the start of the regular season, even after one practice. But once activated, a player is not allowed to return to the PUP. Expect the Packers to take Bakhtiari's return as slowly as possible.
