Good to hear you two discussing all this! My .02:

I never doubted MLF's ability to draw up individual plays. In terms of developing a scheme? I find him to be less of an enigma than I used to. Now it seems clear that if his plan A fails, he simply cannot adjust.

My much bigger concern is the development part of draft and develop. With MM's silos in place, how much control does he have over his coaching staff?

I don't believe our O line lacks talent. It's obvious to me that bad play is tolerated by coaches, which eventually becomes synonymous with actively teaching them to play poorly. As little a difference as 2" in foot placement can be the difference between winning and losing your 1-1 matchup in a given play. Compound that with proper mechanics to get the pad level lower and you have a need for constant teaching from coaches, and it more than explains the lack of a viable run game as well as the slightly twitchy feet of JL in the pocket, reducing the consistency of his accuracy.

Butkus needs to be the first one out the door. Stenovitch was at least good as an O line coach, I wouldn't think this would go so far wrong. I'm not ready to say this is all fixed even with the improvements over the last 4 weeks.

TE coach never played TE. Yes Tucker Kraft is coming along but I really wish Mercedes Lewis stayed to teach the young bucks.

Strength and conditioning staff can be replaced entirely with no risk.

Vrable with the WRs hasn't had the room spending at least 2 hours every day working on just CTFB since day 1 of OTAs, if he had there wouldn't be so many drops. Even though that was much improved against the Lions.

Back to MLF, he abandoned what worked with 12 minutes remaining. That's not a winning strategy, even though it worked. Go for deep throws that are covered, then run the ball straight up the middle into a brick wall 3x in a row. That's a good way to throw away a lead. In the final 4:00, and you're not going against Tom Brady? Ok maybe. Still won't win consistently against good teams.

Fortunately after KC there's only one more good team on the schedule. Yes, the Viqueens are a good team this year. Win both remaining divisional games this season and finish with a winning record in the division? It's possible. It's also possible GB finishes 10-7.

Against KC getting embarrassed is not my #1 concern, but that's functionally synonymous to not getting beat up so badly that JL has no chance to show he's even maintained his progress so far. If they do better than that, mental toughness is required. It will need a lot more than that to go right, too.

What did JB do competently against the Lions? He called for more than 2 down linemen on almost half the plays. That clearly helped the pass rush; to me this was the difference maker in that game. Still didn't call up #99 J Ford.

GPG!

As much as I want to believe that MLF has made progress, this is something HE needs to change. This has been our Achilles for far too long, and what we expected he would change when he arrived. Just as many expect Love to make progress each and every week, the same must also be expected of MLF.

So I'm hoping that we build on the team effort from last week, and of course have similar results. GPG at Lambeau!

I can give ML credit for this game and maybe last game as well. The players seem to like the guy which you can see in the locker room after the games.

My concern with ML is his decision making and in-game decisions. Once again, he made a questionable decision by going for it on 4th and 1 when he could have kicked the FG and gone up by 3 scores on the road. Instead, he went for it, the play was bumbled and we only stayed ahead by two scores. It did not matter in the end but if we would have kicked the FG then the onside kick at the end of the game would have meant nothing. Those things loom large in a lot of NFL games normally.

These are the reasons I still do not see ML as a coach that can win a title. I hope he proves me wrong; however, I am not optimistic.
