Capers to Lead Green Bay Defense

according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette:
A league source on Sunday night said the Packers had agreed to terms with Capers to replace the fired Bob Sanders. The contract has not been signed, according to the source, but that it expected to be finalized on Monday.
The move probably signals a change for the Packers to a 3-4 defense from the 4-3 defense, though the move could be gradual. Capers has worked in both systems and last season was special assistant-secondary for the New England Patriots, who use a mix of 3-4 and 4-3.
But Capers mostly has run the 3-4 in his career. He made his name in coaching circles with his innovative use of zone blitzes in that scheme as defensive coordinator for Pittsburgh from 1992 to 1994, and as Carolina’s head coach from 1995 to 1998.

This is great news. Capers is a great add.
Sooo... Peppers here we come? If they plan on doing a "transition" to the 3-4, they could lure Peppers here, have him play some end, some OLB his first year, then tell him by year 2 he would be strictly OLB.
I still think a move to the 3-4 is doable. The Steelers pluck guys like Harrison and Woodley out of the draft all the time. Why couldn't we do the same thing?
All I know is, watching that Steelers D tonight, all I kept thinking is "I want a defense like THAT."

all in due time and I would love if peppers would come here but would he want to and would TT actually go after him being the tightwad he is? Dom Capers being our DC is GREAT news

Give the Packers a chance. Hire a Kinesiology based prevention orientated sprain/strain doctor to keep injuries minor and players on the field. It's the next step in sports medicine. While it is impossible to avoid all injuries it is possible to keep most injuries minor. TED BE INNOVATIVE!!!

Once again Aaron demonstrates he has a mole in the Packer Organization. I'm not sure about the defensive philosophy he is going to implement now. He's used different approaches at different times. My vote - go aggressive and stay aggressive.

Ditto, on Ron's comment - "get aggressive, stay aggressive" - it's the ONLY mentality of a Lombardi-style defense. It's what Ray Nitschke was all about, people! ----- Still, I'd like to read up more on why Capers hasn't had more righteous success in the NFL. You would think that once you've been on the successful DC/HC road that it doesn't fall flat, like it seems to have done. Spill it, Aaron .... what's your take?
