Bulaga Could Get Starting Nod

Bulaga is one step closer to making his first NFL start when Daryn Colledge came down sick on Friday.

First-round draft choice Bryan Bulaga took a step closer towards possibly making his first NFL start when incumbent starting left guard Daryn Colledge came down sick on Friday.

"Daryn came in this morning sick," said head coach Mike McCarthy in his Friday press conference. "So we’ll see how he is tomorrow. I don’t know if it’s a 24-hour, or where he stands. We’ll see how Daryn is in the morning."

Last week, Bulaga was the top backup at left guard, left tackle and right tackle with T.J. Lang among others inactive for last Sunday's Week 1 game at Philadelphia.

Colledge is listed as questionable on the injury report for this Sunday's home opener against the Buffalo Bills.

Also new to the injury report is fullback Korey Hall who torqued his hip during practice on Thursday. Neither Colledge nor Hall practiced on Friday.

Joining them as questionable for Sunday are defensive lineman Mike Neal, cornerback Brandon Underwood and linebacker Desmond Bishop.

Cornerback Charles Woodson, linebacker Clay Matthews, defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins, tackle Chad Clifton and safety Derrick Martin are all probable for the Bills game.

Not that they should just show-up for the Bills, but maybe it wouldn't be a horrible idea to rest some guys that might play against a better opponent with the same injury. Granted players and coaches are trying to build continuity after a sloppy week 1. Who knows, Green Bay had a similar spread going into Cincinatti and Tampa last year.

We all knew Bulaga would get his shot this year. It was just a matter of where and when-- one of the reasons picking him no. 1 provides immediate value.

To early to rest guys,we still need to make a statement.Kick ass in first half and sit some starters and have the back-ups kick ass almost as much and others will notice and the DC and OC's will start to stir in their planning rooms.

The thing I feel others aren't afraid of...is our depth.WR's yes,the rest not yet.

"Neither College no Hall practiced on Friday..."

Some type of Boise State melancholy after seeing thier championship hopes go down the drain with James Madison whipping VT?

over/under: 3 weeks before we see Bulaga at Tackle? Personally, I'd like to see him get some reps this game so if Clifton gets blown up by Peppers next week, Bulaga might have some real game exp to relieve him.

I'd like to see Bulaga getting the reps. I can't see Bulaga replacing Cliffy if he's getting his butt whipped by Peppers (which he probably will on a number of plays). You don't want to throw Bulaga out there against a Pro Bowler unless you have to.
