Bigby Makes Progress

Safety Atari Bigby returned to practice on Thursday for the first time since injuring his hamstring in Week 11.

Safety Atari Bigby practiced for the first time on Thursday since injuring his hamstring in Week 11 against the Minnesota.

Bigby was on the Packers' gameday-inactive lists in Weeks 12 and 13 in games against Atlanta and San Francisco.

"Atari is making a lot of progress," said head coach Mike McCarthy. "He was able to practice today.

"We just tried to control what segments of practice that he went through. But he looked good, particularly in the opponent scout reps that he was taking. It will be encouraging to see how he feels in the morning when he goes through the doctor’s evaluation."

The veteran safety sat out the first eight weeks of the season while on the Physically Unable to Perform list after undergoing ankle surgery in August. He returned in time for the Week 9 and 11 games against Dallas and Minnesota but ended pulling his hamstring on a punt return in the second Vikings game.

The Packers have been particularly thin at the safety position without the services of Bigby and Anthony Smith (ankle) the past two weeks. Converted cornerback Jarrett Bush has been backing up starters Nick Collins and Charlie Peprah.

He's almost as bad as Harell. GB can't depend on him to stay healthy, and I'm sorry, but the crap he pulled this offseason was obnoxious, bordering on insanity.

"Just when we think he's gone, they bring him back in".
"Bigby sighting is akin to BigFoot,we have evidence(big hit-footprint) that he was here, just never long enough to prove it".
