Movie News: You Can If You Will - The Jerry Kramer Story

You can help get the Jerry Kramer Story Movie made - read the article to see how.

One of the most beloved Green Bay Packers Legends, Jerry Kramer, could soon have a movie dedicated to telling his life story. The project is already underway, with a Kickstarter campaign setup to secure the final funding to complete the project. Donate to the campaign and you can receive a variety of rewards, from t-shirts, Kramer-autographed memorabilia, a DVD or download of the film, your name in the credits, tickets to the premiere, even a phone call or personal visit from Jerry himself! More details at this Kickstarter page.

As for the film itself, it will start with Jerry getting the news of his long-overdue induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame last summer. Jerry will speak throughout the film as a series of flashbacks, interviews and game footage tell the story of the young boy from Sandpoint, Idaho and chronicle his incredible obstacle-filled journey from small town boy, to Pro Bowl player, to best-selling author, to NFL and Green Bay Packers Legend.

Glenn Aveni, a filmmaker and lomng-time Packers fan is the director. Jerry's son Daniel Kramer is a producer on the film.

Judging from the film trailer below, this is a film that not just Packers fans, but any fan of inspirational sports stories will want to see.

This is a movie that NEEDS to be made and you can help make sure that happens.

How can I help, you ask?  Well, let's just say...

You CAN if you WILL (support the Kickstarter campaign).

From all the interviews I have seen and read he sure seems like an interesting person. He definitely was an overachiever but that’s what makes him special.

Kramer's second career as chronicler of the Lombardi Packers almost overshadows his first one as a player for them.

Man, that guy has a set of golden pipes. I wonder why he was never put in the broadcast booth with that voice and that ability to tell a story.

I grew up watching the Green Bay Packers of the Lombardi era. I can name most of the players of that era. Kramer was one of my favorites of that era. Long overdue in being elected into the Pro Football Hall of fame. Can't wait to see this movie.

Reading Instant Replay as a young man was like reading about the apostles! Those men were larger than life.
