5 reasons the Packers will beat the Giants (and 1 reason why they might not)

My apologies for the short five reasons post today. Real life and my oldest son's third birthday party got in the way of me writing a lengthy, snarky and only partially factual post containing five reasons why the Packers will beat the Giants tonight.

I'll still give you the five reasons, minus the snarkiness and context. I'll let you judge their factualness.

  1. Because Eli Manning pooped his pants whenever a pass rusher came within three yards of him during Monday's loss to the Vikings.
  2. Because the Packers offense hopefully hit its rhythm against Detroit and will only be stronger versus New York.
  3. Because Odell Beckham will be arrested in the second quarter for committing a felony on the field out of frustration.
  4. Because Clay Matthews + a rejuvenated Nick Perry = scary.
  5. Because I'm sick of the Giants and Eli always playing the Packers tough and spoiling their plans for success.

Enjoy the game, folks. Go Pack Go!

Um, I don't see the one reason why we might not beat the Giants. It probably is understood - see any of a gazillion articles about this game and NY's WRs.

Could just be me, but I think some snarkiness leaked into this article.

Reason 4 is so true. With Matthews back and Perry healthy hopefully we see what we all thought this could be in 2012 when the Packers drafted Perry. I.E. Scary.... Now go make a "Poop Sandwich" out of Eli.

I disagree that JP isn't/won't be a factor anymore but we obviously have 180 out opinion on JP. I think he's embraced his role Dom has him in. JP has applied good pressure so far this season & has sacked the QB too. I also saw him in zone coverage on one play. BTW, I also gave you a thumbs down.

Rdent's timing is off. Jones' 5th year option came up last offseason, and TT declined. Perry's 5th yr option came up 2 offseasons ago. DPF is correct that TT saved millions by not picking Perry's option up.

Nick Perry, you are playing as good as my brother thought you would...and that is awesome! I thought you showed big vs Washington and also thought that if healthy this year you'd be a stud...and you are. #Tf12

Since we already know the explosiveness of both offenses, it'll come down to whoever's pass rush is most effective. The Giants have Pierre-Paul and Vernon, but the Packers have the superior offensive line. Packers 31, Giants 27.

The one reason we might lose?

MARSHALL EFIN NEWHOUSE!!!!

He could take over the game and neutralize the GB pass rush completely.

Always love seeing your name on the by-line Adam. Keep it up and have an excellent time watching the game with your family. Get everyone napped up so you're all awake tonight!

Newhouse is actually out today with an injury. Time to feast on his back up!

1. Packers OL needs to dominate the LOS in this game so that the Packers can keep ELi and his 3 WRs off the field. 2. On defense Packers pass rush needs to get to Eli. He is not a very mobile QB so if we can force him to move at least, we will throw him off his game and create some turnovers. 3. We cannot leave whoever covers Beckham one on one with him. We need to support our CB with safety help. 4. Win the field position battle. 5. The real Aaron Rodgers needs to show up. Go Pack Go ! Thanks, Since '61

Field position has been a problem for GB so far,if Shum bombs this season I got a name for GB in next year's draft,Cameron Johnston, punter Ohio State, from Australia, kicks rugby style.Sprints outside to kick which tends to hold up coverage because it looks like he might run it,then booms it,watched the game yesterday

I don't know if Eli is one of the smartest QB's or the most cowardly, but I've never seen another QB get down in the fetal position as quickly and often as him. Could probably cover him with an ultrasound rather than a camera.

Any kind of pressure by GB will make the Giants receiving corp moot. With Cm3 back and Perry playing like an all-pro I like GB by the spread.

"Could probably cover him with an ultrasound rather than a camera."

I enjoyed that...
