49ers 37 Packers 8: Game Balls & Lame Calls

Horrific

This one was a really bad showing from the opening kickoff.  Awful job by the coaching staff and the entire roster.  Coming off of a bye.  Staring a shot at the #1 seed in the NFC, this Packers team gave us. . that.  It took two-and-a-half quarters for them to find the scoreboard and by that time, it was too late to make a game of it.

Not much else to say and no excuse for that performance with two weeks to prepare.

Game Balls

Za'Darius Smith had a sack and a nice note on his shirt in support of a Packers staffer's Mom who is ill.  That's it.

Lame Calls

The Green Bay Packers

This team put up another really bad effort on the road.  Not one guy or phase could step up and redeem it.  The future Hall of Fame quarterback was one of the biggest zero's of them all.  He looked an awful lot like last year's version in this particular contest.  Maybe the offensive line isn't very good or, at least, they weren't in this game but Rodgers almost looked scared to be out there.  Not a good look.  The offense was straight up offensive.

It's hard to know how good this team actually is after sandwiching a home win against a sub-.500 team between two God-awful road attempts.  Matt LaFleur, his staff and the entire roster need to spend this week figuring out what they want to make of this season.  Unless we see evidence that this game was an anomaly, a deep playoff run sounds like an overachievement.

It's clear that despite some very good players in some areas, this roster is still lacking quite a bit when it comes to competing with the upper echelon of teams in the league.  Expectations will likely cool on this Packers team and they'll have to surprise us if they're to do anything special.

Not a lot to build on heading into New York next week.  The Giants are really bad but the Packers, in their last two road games, haven't looked any better.

Wishing all of our readers a happy Thanksgiving.

Passing on the first half FG to go on 4th and 2 was a lame call. With a 37-8 outcome, it hardly mattered in the end. But a bad short yardage offense that was getting dominated at the LoS all night is not a good gamble.

The call was awful too. I was hoping for a bootleg but really not expecting an inside zone to the side where they just lost Bulaga.

"It's clear that despite some very good players in some areas, this roster is still lacking quite a bit when it comes to competing with the upper echelon of teams in the league"

This was what I was thinking about as I watched this game. They're talking about all the work SF did to build an elite d-line and here we are starting two guys from Northwestern of all places. GB needs to find starters at RT, WR, CB, ILB and probably OLB depending on whether Gary develops. And they need to start entertaining the thought of drafting a QB. Just so many needs to win a SB in the small window that remains for 12.

I had just copied the sentence:

"It's clear that despite some very good players in some areas, this roster is still lacking quite a bit when it comes to competing with the upper echelon of teams in the league."

Then, I read your recap - totally on point. Most fans still ignore the gaps and lean talent on this team. Another year without any draft and FA misses might get us closer but after seeing the O-Line get gobbled up last night, we may have seen that timeline stretched further into the future.

Gotta wonder if LaFleur to Rodgers is a replay of McCarthy to Favre. Don't know if the old dogs are going to do the new tricks.

I will add that one similarity I am noticing between Rodgers/Favre (late career) is that there are just games when you can see check out early. I have noticed this lately with Rodgers. Nothing is going right, and you can just see that there is no fire there. Sometimes in these games it takes 1 play to get the team going. And they just can't provide that.

Its one of those things that, as a fan, I just don't know enough to understand what's really going on. But you rarely see 12 with a headset or grouped around his WRs talking when things go wrong. Lots of camera look-ins last night of him sitting alone on the bench.

They all saw the Game Plan Wed and that suppressed any energy coming off the bye. Pettine's group has to bring pressure and let Amos and Savage patrol the middle. Forget the DB as ILB joke and tighten up your zones. Let King understand he has NO Help when he's in man-to-man. He has to stick on Wrs and Kittle.

they also need a TE and a C. Linsley was god awful and Graham was a big mistake. Zero production from this TE group. also you need a QB to groom cause Rodgers is a shell of what he once was.

Lindsley has been absent all year and part of last. Bull rushers dominate him. When they slide Turner to help him the opponent runs the LB into the vacated gap and sacks the QB or stones the RB. Fourth time this year that play has happened. Rodgers will still be standing come playoff time, will the running QBs go through the gauntlet in one piece?

as in LA against the chargers, the team simply was not ready to play a football game for the first couple of series. inexcusable. the coach looked like he was going to start weeping half way through. face it. we are a mid pack team, no pun intended, who except for the vikings as yet to beat a quality team. our record is a testimony to just how bad the product league wide has become.

Yep, it is becoming clear that the talent level is average, and coaches can't lead, inspire and coax the average talent to be better than the individual levels. Rodgers has not been the best QB on the field most of the season. Other reliable blue chips such as Baktiari have regressed. Too many average players (Allision, MVS, Graham, Amos, JAlexander, KKIng, probably Savage, and all the ILBs. Average and contributing players are critical for all teams, but for GB, the coaches have to lift them to excel beyond their levels.

Belichik knows when to use stunts and trickery to turn the moribund team when it needs to jolt and kick ass.

It seems GB was a September darling, hovering around the 10th-12th best team in the league.

I quit watching before the 2nd half. Wasn't worth losing anymore of my evening for, one variation of entertainment; watching a joke.

This team is weak and they play weak football. There are exceptions of course like the Smiths and Kenny Clark on offense and the running backs and maybe Devante. But otherwise this team plays a soft finesse game that is never going to work in the playoffs.

They also make too many stupid mistakes. How the do you have plays in the game plan that lets George Kittle run free? It's like they didn't even scout the 49ers enough to know he is a top threat in football.

Two blown overages last night RC. Weird too. Kittle ran free cause King was playing quarters while the rest of the secondary was in zero coverage. They had the 49ers WR/TE shut down. King who has been very good on deep routes all year just let him go. The other was in fourth quarter on a go route that the Packers were in 2 deep. Just let the guy go. Outright mental errors... (I should point out the second TD was not King's responsibility. )

Teddy Thompson left this roster so void of talent in so many areas, even adding the Smith Bros isn't close to enough.

And who is Guty's WR head scout? At least Thompson knew how to evaluate & draft WRs.

Guty used 3 in the 2018 Draft & they're all bums, worthless. Strike 1, 2, 3... whiffed. Just like Teddy whiffed at drafting 2 CBs in the 2015 Draft with 1-2 of Randall & Rollins.

Our WRs are atrocious.

Talk about misleading statistics.

Packers had more yards rushing, more first downs, and a big edge in time of possession.
Yet our total yards passing we had under 100. Rodgers averaged fewer yards per pass than Jamaal Williams per rush.

Game Balls-

---

Lame Calls-

Packers playing in California.

Notes:
Packers had some serious momentum after the first 2 plays of the game. That is until the Freaking ref threw a flag on Adams for Taunting. I mean WTF? After that call, it just went downhill after. 3 plays later Rodgers fumbles, 49ers get the ball at the 2 score a TD. I'm sorry but I'm sick and tired of these refs being to involved in games. I could go on and on about the refs and how bad they are but we all know that. That play just really pissed me off.

The truth is as bad as that game was the Packers realistically could host the 49ers in the playoffs. Packers play 1 team with a winning record the rest of the year. (Vikings). 49ers play 4.
Packers remaining schedule - at Giants, Redskins, Bears, at Vikings, at Lions
49ers remaining schedule - at Ravens, at Saints, Falcons, Rams, at Seahawks.

Packers win out, 49ers could lose 3 of those games. That would be enough for the Packers to be ahead of them in Standings. I'm not saying it will happen but it could happen.

Totally agree that NFL reffing is all but ruining the product. I watched two phantom tripping calls in the Dallas/NE that defy reality. When the refs go looking for stuff, it only degrades the game. As for Adams and his personal foul - it was ticky tacky. Still, Davante needs to shut his mouth and play football.

I appreciate your optimism but to consider this team anything better than a first round punching bag for the playoffs is a waste of time. Yes, we have a weak schedule going forward but that isn't going build a better team. Wild card entry into the playoffs and golfing shortly thereafter.

I saw that 2nd tripping call. The problem on that play we are viewing it at a different angle then the refs, plus in slow motion. If you play that one at full speed and try to look at the angle that the ref is at, you can see where it looks like tripping. You see the OL leg come up, and the guy goes to the ground.
It clearly wasn't, I'm just saying that our viewpoint was different from there's.

As far and Adams play that was just terrible. There was absolutely, nothing there. If that is a penalty, they should have called literally everything in that game.

Packers have beaten 4 teams with winning records. This game got away from them early. that penalty changed the game.
I'm still not afraid of the 49ers. We played a crappy game and got beat. We had bad dropped passes, and bone headed mistakes made. The only concerning part for me from this game is the injury to Bulaga. That is the only thing that concerns me.

I must agree the officials inserted themselves into this game too much. Adams penalty set the tone for the game. Add a phantom hands-to-face call and it was a debacle . Can't let special teams off the hook either. Really, a record setting season with negative punt return yardage. Field position matter people!

Are you serious? I'm talking about that Adams play.
That penalty on Adams COMPLETELY changed the first drive. It was a HORRIBLE call. To suggest otherwise is idiotic. Packers had the ball around the 35 and went back to around the 20. That gave the 49ers some momentum, which ended up leading to the sack fumble. That penalty was the changing point in that first drive.

I'm not even talking about some of the other penalties that were crap. The next drive where they called illegal hands to the face on King where he hits the guys shoulder pads, which would have 4th down, but gave them a first down. There were countless plays that were purely crap.

I am not saying the Packers lost because of the refs. What I'm saying is early there were some crap penalties and the refs were way to involved in the game.

You do know that the Packers as of right now are still in the Playoffs right? They are still the top of the NFC North. There are 5 games left. 3 on the road 2 at home. 1 game is above .500 right now. The next 2 games are against teams with a combined 4-18 record.
Packers have beat 4 teams with winning records. They can easily be 13-3, 12-4. Since when is that not good? Did we just forget that? Why just cuz we lost to the 49ers (who is a good team) in a game that got out of hand is that we are all of a sudden a crap team?

The NFL is a week to week league. The Saints lost to the Falcons 26-9. Are the Saints a crap team?

On the other hand, the Packers were the beneficiary of some calls, including a helmet-to-helmet hit that bailed them out of a third and 35. I think that was the drive that later included included a long pass incompletion to Graham that should have been challenged by LaFleur.

The refs insert themselves too much in every game--that's the current NFL product. Hopefully the calls even themselves out over the course of the season.

Sure, the refs impacted the first drive with a silly penalty, but the Packers were seriously outplayed for the rest of the game. The talent disparity in certain positions is pretty noticeable. Still, the Packers are a good team, but not as good as their record would indicate. You'd just like to see some upward trajectory as the season winds down and we (hopefully) head into the playoffs.

OK, that was a whole lot of horrible, but let's not jump off the bandwagon by jumping off a cliff. New England, the 49ers, the Seahawks and the Saints are the teams to beat this year, pretty much in that order. After that who is better than the Packers? The Vikings? Come on now.

You could argue the Packers are basically the same as the 2018 Bears - winning close games as long as everyone is healthy. I think that is wrong. Exhibit A is they ripped off four wins without Davante Adams. In fact the whole offense looked better without Adams which makes me want to go look at stats about how #12 is spreading the ball since Adams came back.

The other thing is that, while last night totally sucked, the Packers were up against a coach who understood exactly what MLF was trying to do on offense. That cuts both ways, but the 49ers are another two years into the system. The players probably do not have the finer points down yet. The defense held up fairly well for a while, but one unit cannot win the game by themselves and they have had trouble with TEs all year and I would argue one of these "cover" ILB needs to develop or the Packers need to take the position seriously and add a high pick at the position for a change.

Yes, this team has weak spots. No, I don't see them going on the road and winning games in Seattle or San Francisco, and they will definitely have to win at one of those two places to go to the Super Bowl. But we're not done yet. Not this year, and definitely not next year.

P.S. I believe in Lazard.

I agree RC, this team is good enough to go at least 4-1 the rest of the way, and then you never know in this unpredictable NFL. You can't give a very good team 7 pts on the road to begin the game and then go without our RT against a very good D line. Adams is still not at full speed as you could see on that sideline pattern where he usually gets separation. Perhaps the main issue the rest of the way is the inability of our receivers getting open. I'm very surprised that MVS has not developed. We have plenty of lg ,but sorely need a quick slot receiver that can get open.

It just seemed that our team wasn't ready to play big boy football (or maybe they are incapable of). That was a physical D and they manhandled our O-line - and the middle of our D got worked again. We also lack , other than Adams, WRs that can get open. Our secondary is looking confused and inferior recently.

We still have holes to fill.

Interesting.

Rodgers said. “We have leadership in this locker room. It kind of surfaced there in some postgame remarks by some of the guys. I’m not going to get into who said what, but it was definitely encouraging hearing some of those voices"...

Rodgers still suggesting that several need to be accountable, but what about him? No longer able to see the field well, throws off back foot, ignores the middle, consistently plays long ball on 3rd and short-- that's Rodgers against any aggressive DL and pass rush.

While I despise Collinsworth, anyone else notice his comment that Rodgers holds the ball for 3 seconds--longer than almost all other QBs?

Yes, we need a TE, yes, we need a WR2, yes, we need an ILB but we also need Rodgers to play much, much better and get rid of the ball faster.

Depressing!

but in Rodgers' defense when he did throw across the middle, it seemed that Geronimo Allison had grease on his fingers, and Cobb wasn't there as an option. What the hell is Allison doing out there anyway, he's sucked all year?

It can't be understated how significant the fumble on the opening drive was, and that's on Rodgers. Big game, crowd is into it, and you hand them a 7-0 lead.

Kind of a chicken-and-the-egg thing... Is Rodgers continuing to hold onto the ball too long because that's the play call and/or his preference, or is it because Graham/Allison can't get open?

I'd love to see Rodgers stats on 20 yard passes down field relative to others. His pass to Graham was good, but he missed Adams by 5 yards twice last night. Those were overthrows, he's been underthrowing MVS and others all year. Just doesn't seem to have that as anything other than backyard chucking the ball around type of strategy.

"Unless we see evidence that this game was an anomaly, a deep playoff run sounds like an overachievement".

The way the defense played the 4-5 weeks leading up to this game did anyone really believe a deep playoff run was possible? Last night the "D", despite a few big plays where they obviously thought Kittle was still inactive, actually played a fairly reasonable game. Hell, they were on the field most of the night, and had the offense brought anything at all to the game they might have done even better!

"It's clear that despite some very good players in some areas, this roster is still lacking quite a bit when it comes to competing with the upper echelon of teams in the league."

Yeah, no kidding, as I watched the 49ers LBs make play after play I kept wondering why GB doesn't have ANY on the roster?

Game Balls: The state of California

Lame calls:
-Packers punt return team (0 or negative yards, again)
-Refs in the 1st quarter
-1st quarter 4th and 1 call with another shotgun run doomed for failure
-Offensive line consistently getting bullied lately
-Kevin king with the worst coverage I think I have ever seen on the Kittle touchdown
-Receivers: dropped 1st down catches on 3 first half possessions
-Not calling more running back flat routes that carved up defenses while Adams was sidelined
-Aaron Rodgers looking like his old self trying to find the home run ball on every play instead of taking what the defense gives him
-Offense that just can't seem to operate from behind.

Chris Collinsworth even said "This offense isn't built for the big play" when in actuality through the first 4 weeks the Packers were tops in the league with big passing plays. MVS has been completely erased from the game plan and they target him maybe once or twice a game. I'm not sure if Rodgers just isn't looking his way or is always looking to force feed Adams and misses MVS when he's open, but Adams return has hurt this team more than it's helped them. I love Adams and I don't want to say the team is better with him on the sidelines. But at the same time, you have to wonder if being more creative and NEEDING to get other players involved in the passing game to win was better for the team. It's hard to say. But one thing is for sure, they laid another absolute egg.

WR: Allison, Kumerow and Lazard are essentially the same WR (big body possession receiver) and we need only one. Packers do not have the lightning quick slot receiver that so many of the better teams have. Not ready to give up on MVS yet (remember Davante's second year?) but he will need to produce next year. We will get ESB back next year but will also need a draft choice at WR (preferably that quick slot receiver).

TE: Kittle demonstrated what a good TE can do for an offense. Cut Graham and draft a TE.

D-Line: We have seen what good D-lines can do (SF, LAC, Eagles). We need better than Lancaster and Lowery as our starting DE's. At least one draft choice plus a free agent at D-line next year.

ILB: Martinez is not playing well and Burks and Summers can't even replace any of his snaps at this point. This may be a complete rebuild a la Gute's renovation of the OLB position last year.

QB: This is probably heresy and maybe I need some more distance from the game last night, but Rodgers does not look like Rodgers. I am not ready to give up on him, but the Packers should start thinking about drafting a replacement.

Yes to all your points. I'll only add that we all know how thin this years roster would be, so when the injuries hit the Packers starters, the drop off would be pretty steep. Losing Buluga and replacing him with Alex Light pretty much doomed the offensive line and took the what's left of the Packers game plan down the drain. That does not excuse MLF or Rodgers not playing to this teams strength in run blocking or getting both Williams and Jones on the field. Second time we seen MLF with a either the unwillingness or inflexibility to make major adjustments to his offensive scheme. The reality is this team is still in rebuilding mode. A job made harder by being in the playoff hunt. (I blame Ted Thompson for building a good core, but not finishing the job. Well, I actually blame Mark Murphy for interfering, but that's another story..) No secrets here, this team is one more likely two drafts from being a Superbowl contender. Gute got some major work to do before draft day.

Fair point about Light, but I wasn't as unhappy with Light as I was with Linsley. Light is a reserve tackle who came in against one of the best D-lines in the league - you kinda knew that wasn't going to go well. Linsley is a starter and should be able to block better than he did.

Agree about MLF - he has not shown a good ability to do in-game adjustments and that is worrisome.

Lindsey was as bad as I have ever seen him play. Did not help that Jenkins played like a rookie beside him. (Best not talk about Tuner...) Some of that was blocking schemes playing to the 49ers power rush. This line was set up fail by MLF for the second time in three weeks. GM Gute better start asking some hard questions...

We are starting to see a plethora of holes on this team. Age is catching up and lack of skill players is telling. We won't be able to fix this in a single draft and FA season. And MLF needs a few years to figure out how to call a game. I don't expect it will be too long before AR starts coming down with Ely Manning Syndrome.

My lame call of the night goes to Davante Adams. I love the guy but if you want to beat the really good teams you need to stay focused. His unsportsmanlike penalty on the first drive was just ridiculous. Yes the call was a little soft BUT you can’t do it. That call pushed us from past the 40 back to our own 25. The ensuing fumble and mayhem leading to the first gift wrapped score helped set the tone for the entire night.

No loss can be tied to one play and the Packers were probably going to get their arses whipped anyway but his need to taunt the opponent hurt the team.

Truth.

You can't handle the truth!
The truth is the Packers are not going to beat the Niner's, Seahawks or the Saints this year!
The offensive line is just bad!
Can we stop any tight end in the NFL?
We have a punter that can't punt!
Special teams Suck!
Has Gary made one tackle this year? What a waste of a first round pick!!!!!!
First year coach looks like one against the good teams!
Hello McFly the Pack are exactly who we thought they were!
PRETENDER'S!!!!!!!!!

If Jimmy Graham played for the 9ers, he would have had a stellar performance. If Kittle can get open by 15 yards, I'm sure even Jimmy could get open by at least 10.

The deep pass to Davante early on should have been PI , not called also Rodgers getting hit low on a play after he threw the ball clear roughing the passer not called , both could have resulted in early points may have been game changers. Were some BS calls against the Packers . Just saying

I'm glad that the Packers are playing much better than the last two seasons, but the record doesn't match the product on the field.

That being said, they could get to 13-3 or 12-4, but does anyone here have a realistic expectation that they could beat Seattle or San Francisco in a playoff game?

Can a head coach fire himself? The season is officially over now even if we make the playoffs, we aren't going far. Something is really wrong with this team for this to happen again. No hiding it now. And it was a bit tiring hearing Aaron and Cory saying "come on people, it's only the 1st qtr"; "this is only only team to be 4-0 against winning teams", etc. That's all history now. Couldn't they see the team imploding in front of them!

Regardless, the team is still 8-3 and it looked like a very good team for much of the year. The defense has been the biggest problem of the last 8 weeks and the offense has sputtered ever since Adams came back. This is not all on Lafleur. The special teams will definitely need to be overhauled, again, because 11 attempts for -11 yards is just wrong. How can a special teams unit be that bad?

It seems the game started with the 49ers punching us in the mouth, and the referees stabbing us in the back (e.g. highly questionable personal foul on Davante after a first down on the first drive, phantom hands-to-the-face call on King after a big sack that would have forced a punt).
My main concern, though is Aaron Rodgers holding the ball -- as early as the first drive when he fumbled away the ball at the two yard line to set up an easy 49ers touchdown.
After two weeks prep, and knowing the 49ers have a brutal defense, and figuring that defense would be amped up to maul us from the opening snap -- wouldn't we have an array of short passes to go to, especially early in the game, to keep the defense guessing and off balance?
(Our best drive of the game was actually at the beginning of the second quarter, including the end-around to Lazard -- and we should have tried the field goal to come away with some points.)
Are there no pre-snap formations and motions, are there no crossing routes and other schemes, that can get our pass catchers open -- or is Aaron Rodgers stubbornly refusing to throw the short pass when it's available?
On the plus side, better now than in the first round of the playoffs; but we better figure out things like our short and intermediate passing game with urgency.

Playing zone coverage allowed Kittle to find an opening downfield. When we play zoned defense, every opposing team finds an opening downfield. We've got to play man to man. Kevin King plays man to man much better than he does playing a zone scheme. Rodgers has got to throw the ball much more quickly than he does. Our O line is as bad as we feared. Linsley had his worst game as a Packer. Add Center to the needs list for the next draft. RG Billy Turner, who in past games has left his assignment to go out and help Bulaga or the TE on the right end of the line, to block a pass rusher. This leaves Linsley all alone to take care of the middle of the line. Hard for Linsley to take care of one man, let alone two. Look for a RG in the next draft. Bulaga gets injured. Again. Look for a RT in the next draft. Light had all sorts of trouble blocking Bosa. Draft a back up RT in the next draft or grab one in FA. All these years of neglecting the O Line is killing the Packers. Sure, we picked up Jenkins in the last draft. He is the exceptional guy on the O line, right now. Bakhtiari is not having his best season, either. He got a flag for actually blocking a guy legally in last night's fiasco. Davantae getting flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct. Those stupid penalties have got to go! Those drive killing penalties that result in 3rd and long instead of converting on 2nd and short puts us in a hole we cannot seem to crawl out of. So much room for improvement. So little time to find solutions. When we needed a win to sort things out, the Packers blow it, big time!

You may very well be right on the zone/man thing, but King just flat out got beat by a slow runner and the scheme wasn't the issue. I'd understand if he was guarding a burner like the guys in KC, but it was a freaking TE. Instead of staying with him he needed to guess which way the route was going, and he guessed wrong. Shouldn't have to do that on a TE.

Lots of injury excuses for him, but not this year.

It just hurts because we waited 2 weeks to see our team and they didn’t show up again. This game was the test of whether or not the packers were contenders. They failed so terribly I don’t even want to go to the giant game next week anymore.

I believe the play that is sent in is being executed. Bad play or not it’s being executed. When the coach says they are sticking to the same sh** game plan at the start of second half that is all I need to hear to learn where the problem is. What has happened to up tempo to change the game? I am not convinced MLF is taking this offense in the right direction. It’s obvious he has to have total control.

Game Balls: None, zero, zip!

Lame Calls: For the 1st time this season MLF looked like he was in over his head, at least to me. When your team plays as poorly as the Packers did last evening that is lack of preparation and that is on the coaching staff. The OL was completely beaten physically by the 49ers. Some of that is on coaching and some of that is on the talent level of the players. The 49er DL is better than our OL.

Our front 7 has only 3 NFL players, Clark and the Smiths. The rest cannot play at a high level against a good team. Lancaster, Lowry, Martinez and ??? at the other ILB are backups at best and that was proven last evening. I'm not sure where our Safeties were last night. Big difference I noticed was how well the 49ers tackled. They allowed very yards after either the initial hit or after a reception was made.

On offense we have Rodgers, Jones, Williams and Adams. After that we need better WRs and an actual NFL TE. Allison and MVS are #4 and 5 at best and probably shouldn't be on the team. Graham is done. Chuck him now and move on. Give Sternberger a chance.

Maybe we'll come back from the bye next week, maybe not. We'll see. Thanks, Since '61

Hi guys,

If our offense was at least competent, our defense would have much better numbers. I agree there are several problems with the roster (WR, TE, LB and special teams) but this MLF dude was supposed to be an offensive guru...
We are 8-3 with an offense that is a liability and that puts our defense always in difficult positions on the field.
The worst of all is you just have to look at them to see they don't believe in that shit/they are not having fun.. nothing. Just blank expressions all around.
The offensive gameplan was a joke. Again. MLF instead of attacking the 49rs played defense with his play call. Wtf!
And of course it all went down the drain pretty quickly.
This guy untill now has not provided any spark to our offense.
Tell me again why he was hired?
Not even an average coach... what a waste!

With MM we always had a game or two each year in which we looked ill prepared and disinterested. Welcome to ML and Groundhog Day. Always put the blame on MM and his staff when that may have been a mistake. That being said, this team is a lot more fun to watch than the last couple years and not just because of the wins. The Smith brothers bring an edge coupled with intense fun attitudes. “Z” is an absolute treasure of a human being and is now my favorite Packer! We are taking positive steps this year and with added talent, next year is when I expect us to rise to a higher level

I agree. The team still needs more talent. Only Elgton is a draft for sure. Rodgers is regressing again. And Lafleur is showing signs of rookie coach issue. Specifically not taking the field goal and not changing his play calling when it was obvious his team was not playing well. But all is not lost. We need desperately to have Jones involved in the pass game. And get Rodgers to take what the defense gives you and stay ahead of the down and distance. Throwing a back shoulder pass to MVS being guarded by Sherman and MVS not looking for the ball is on Rodgers and Lafleur. Especially after that stupid taunting penalty.
