I don’t get winning the toss and deferring possession. Momentum is a thing and our defense is a question mark. They took the ball and stuffed it 83 yards down our throats and now we are chasing the game the rest of the night.

Kind of curious if it's where the front foot is or the ball for determining safety on intentional grounding.

For $50m a year, i would expect him to be able to throw it out of bounds. Perhaps the thumb was an issue.

Rodgers is pretty much done. He has moments of greatness, but the total inaccuracy is showing it’s head more and more. No, I don’t put this on totally receivers this year, even with some obvious screw ups. Rodgers has also just been off. A lot. Even if they some how pull off a win, his play is not sustainable.

I am getting tired of the announcers making excuses for Rodgers (changes at OC and QB coach, changes at WR, etc., etc.). Rodgers has just flat missed some open receivers at crucial times. Dallas was a mirage and he has returned to the inaccuracy he's showed much of the season.

1 points
1
0
Oppy's picture

November 18, 2022 at 03:58 am

Everyone has made every excuse for Rodgers for the last 8 years.
They don't care who they throw under the bus to do it.

A few years ago, they went so far as to say not one Packers WR could get open the entire season (even when the all 22 clearly showed WRs get open regularly.)

When young QBs don't throw the ball to a WR who has a defender trailing him, they say "You gotta throw that ball. This is the NFL. If a receiver has a half a step on a defender, that's open. You're expected to put the ball out in front of the WR where he can get to it but the defender can't, and let the WR make a play on the ball."

When Rodgers takes a sack or throws the ball away, they circle the WRs being covered the exact same way and talk about how somebody has to step up and give their QB a target.

I'm done with the double standards that are continually trotted out for the last 8 years in a collective effort to repel any criticism of Aaron Rodgers.

On a down-to-down basis, he's not that accurate. Hasn't been for years. Yes, he still occasionally puts an amazing ball on a WR. But by and large, he typically throws either too low or behind his target, making balls that are either not very catchable or forcing the target to slow down or turn around to make the catch, effectively taking away the RAC potential. He refuses to throw a lot of passes that are routinely thrown by most QBs in the league because of his lack of trust in WRs. Sure, he's 'protecting the football'. Whatever.

People need to watch old film of Aaron Rodgers from 2009-2014 and see what he used to do with the ball. That is the Aaron Rodgers everyone seems to still think is on the field. It isn't.

That Aaron Rodgers gave his WRs opportunities to make plays. He placed scary-accurate balls right on the money, he led WR's into open space placing the ball out in front of them so they could make the grab out in front of their bodies at chest/shoulder height without breaking stride over the middle, pulling away from the defender to turn it up-field. That Aaron Rodgers gave the open man the ball, didn't care if it was Donald Driver,/Jordy Nelson or if it was Ruvell Martin or Jarret Boykin coming off the bench. He saw the open WR and he delivered the ball.

People have forgotten what elite QB play looks like in Green Bay. They still think they're looking at it. Kind of like how you don't notice yourself aging when you look in the mirror every morning. The change is so gradual, you don't even recognize it. Then one day, you see a photo of yourself and wonder how you aged 20 years overnight. That's exactly what has happened with Packers fans watching Rodgers play QB. They haven't realized he's nowhere near the QB he once was. The slide has been over many, many years.

Time to see it for what it is. Go watch pre 2015 Rodgers, then immediately watch Rodgers now. It's night and day. He's not that guy any more.

How long till next coaching change? MLF is an OC at best or maybe things change with a QB he isn't so deferential to.

Lazard and Watson both just let up on their routes. Multiple times this year I have seen Watson slow down on routes.

Well guess the win over the Cowboys was a fluke. Time to start looking forward to the draft again…

Not even gonna reach out pitifully low season average tonight ( 18 points )
This team stinks, and MLF & 12 seem to have reach a point where I feel they won’t win together.
Somebody has to go. I don’t think this team will win 7 games. If there are no repercussions then Rodgers and co. will be just as bad next year.
MLF brings absolutely no energy to this team. The difference from the opening kick between Vrabel and MLF was amazing, Now that Rodgers isn’t playing like Superman, MLF ain’t looking so good. He looks like playoff MLF.. a disappointment.

The run game was never going to work against that D.
Receivers are sub-par and can't be relied on consistently. Watkins is a huge disappointment, Lazard stopped his route, Watson is showing promise but he's a rookie.
Defense is beyond a problem
Rodgers threw some bad balls as well.
There is nothing strong about that team
Coaching is weak.

Sounds like a dumpster fire game. Maybe Rodgers should beet feet down to South America and get somemore silly juice.
At least now when he throws the ball in the dirt he can smile and say, "hey its only a game, life itself is much bigger then this. More silly juice please."

This isn’t a good team and watched didn’t watch all the night for that reason. Receivers are garbage. Rodgers is past his prime but the offense still can’t adjust in a game is worrisome. Rodgers still throwing and jones not running ever is a joke. Plus lambeau isn’t homefield advantage like we think the cold makes it worse for an aging qb. But defense played well but even if Jordan Love plays he doesn’t have a legitimate receiver threat. Rodgers should have retired too and didn’t so now we’re all stuck with an awful coached team. On top do that some really bad players on offense! Receiver ring a bell?

"Defense played well"seriously?? Agreed they played well in the 4th qtr and gave the offense a chance but cant let a titans team with an avg of 20 points a game by offense score 27 points at home.

Coming Rodgers yes he definitely past the prime missed some crucial throws in the 4th qtr to keep the game alive. Coming to Running game i know we are going to struggle against a physical stout dline(even against an injured defense) as a result we avged around 3 yds a touch.

Rodgers, it is embarrassing and sad to watch the decline. But, it’s time to move on to the next generation, as hard as it is to say it. It was a great run, but don’t be the guest who over stays their welcome at the party. Walk away with your head held high. Acknowledge the reality. Come back in a few years for some reminiscing and cheers!

We need an overhaul to the coaches. They got a injured secondary we couldnt take advantage of. They got terrible receivers we couldn't stop. This is one of the least fun teams to watch in the entire league this year. This whole organization owes the fans an apology for the absolute shit show they are putting out there week after week. Its beyond embarassing

Fans still have a voice.

If the coaches remain, nothing will change.
All of it is a mess from the top down.

The last time I saw a fan driven, grass roots rebellion against Packers brass like the one you're attempting to wage right now was when a a small but vocal group of die-hard Packers fans wanted to fire everybody responsible for the despicable trade of Brett Favre and the drafting/insertion of the joke of a QB Aaron Rodgers.

Few quick observations.
Rodgers Played poor 4th qtr. Running game hasn't been able to make any difference. This is what i have been saying all season that with that oline we'll be able to run well against stout Dlines.
Lazard is the not the true wr1 in the team. Need to fire Watkins ASAP.
This defense is not a championship defense. Giving up 27 points to an offense known for low scoring.

Season is over better to just play eagles game and bench Rodgers to start love the game after and see.

They already know Love's 'potential'-it's not there.

I'd like Rodgers benched too. (for different reasons)

When you need a 2-WR's at the deadline....at least get 1 (GUTE). Official... lost season. 1 INT and 2 punts...Nothing . That's a tough team to stop up front..especially when your giving them zone and their dicing you apart in the secondary.
