Gresh & Zo of 98.5 The Sport Hub in Boston reports that New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker is expected to be medically cleared for full participation on day one of training camp.
Welker tore the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee in the first half of New England's regular season finale against the Houston Texans in January. Welker underwent surgery to repair the ACL in February, but the MCL was able to heal on its own.
Welker also underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in one of his shoulders this off-season.
Patriots veterans are due to report to training camp in Foxborough on July 28.
