Undrafted University of Missouri wide receiver Danario Alexander has received medical clearance to return to the football field, and his agent is trying to set up a pro day workout for NFL teams in the near future, reports Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The 6-5, 215-pound Alexander caught 191 passes for 2,778 yards and 22 touchdowns during his four years with the Tigers. Injuries limited his playing time until his senior season, when the first-time starter caught 113 passes for NCAA-best 1,781 yards with 13 touchdowns.

Alexander earned first-team All-Big 12 honors after the season.

Despite his obvious physical talents and proven production, multiple knee surgeries during his college career were enough to hurt Alexander's draft stock. A left knee injury at the Senior Bowl required yet another operation, this time to clean out some cartilage, and kept him off the NFL's radar until now.

Alexander's vertical leap (43") and broad jump (11'01") at the Senior Bowl were eye-popping, and Alexander claims to have run a 4.41-40 during a workout last week in Houston. With his size, hands, and speed, Alexander is likely to earn an invite to an NFL training camp, provided he can pass an NFL physical.
