Even though Sunday's 17-14 win over the Washington Redskins wasn't enough to get the New York Giants into the playoffs, it did improve their record to 10-6, which prompted head coach Tom Coughlin to deliver Bobby Knight-esque message for his critics.
"Outstanding. Outstanding finish to the ball game," Coughlin said. "We did our part, okay? That's all I can ask you to do. Hey, from the bottom of my heart and everybody's, we have a 10-6 season. A 10-win season in the NFL, okay? They can kiss my ass, okay? They can line up and kiss my ass. It's not an easy thing to do."
Giants ownership is bringing Coughlin back for the 2011 season.
"I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious."
