Surgery Not Required for Delmas

Tom Kowalski of MLive.com reports that Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz and safety Louis Delmas said surgery will not be required to fix Delmas' injured groin muscle.

Surgery had been discussed as an option, but the specialist that Delmas visited did not recommend that path.

Delmas injured the groin during the off-season workouts, and is currently on the team's "Active/PUP" list. Delmas is eligible to come off that list at any point, but considering the nature of the injury, and the importance of getting Delmas healthy for the regular season, the Lions are expected to proceed with caution.
