Steelers QB Dennis Dixon Has Torn Meniscus

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dennis Dixon has torn meniscus in his left knee, reports Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com.

Dixon will seek a second opinion and course of action on treatment on Tuesday, Florio adds.

With Ben Roethlisberger suspended, and Byron Leftwich sidelined with a torn MCL in his left knee, Dixon has started at quarterback for the Steelers, who are 2-0 to start the season.

Statistically, Dixon has completed nearly 70% of his passes for 254 yards, but hasn't thrown a touchdown pass and has been intercepted once to go along with 5 sacks. A mobile quarterback, Dixon has added 32 yards rushing on 5 attempts.

After releasing him on Saturday, the Steelers re-signed Leftwich earlier on Monday.
