Seahawks Re-Sign LB Anthony Heygood

The Seattle Seahawks announced that they have re-signed first-year linebacker Anthony Heygood.

Heygood joined the Seahawks' practice squad midway through the 2009 season after making three tackles for the Carolina Panthers during the 2009 pre-season. The Panthers signed Heygood as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue last April.

Heygood had been playing behind Aaron Curry at outside linebacker. Curry has missed practice this week with a concussion.

To make room for Heygood, the Seahawks have waived long-snapper Matt Overton. Seattle had claimed rookie long-snapper Clint Gresham off waivers from the New Orleans Saints last Saturday.
