Saints Re-Sign QB Sean Canfield to Practice Squad

Once again, the New Orleans Saints have re-signed quarterback Sean Canfield to the practice squad. And once again, the Saints have released running back Chris Taylor to make room for him.

A seventh-round pick out of Oregon State in 2010, Canfield has frequently shuttled pay grades since being waived on August 31.

Signed to the Saints' practice squad on September 5, Canfield was released the following day. Re-signed to the practice squad on September 18, Canfield was released on September 23 before re-joining the squad on October 3. Released again on October 6, Canfield was added two days later and released again on the 13th when the Saints signed Taylor to the practice squad.

New Orleans released Taylor to re-sign Canfield on October 23 before swapping players again on October 27. Taylor was deleted on November 6, with Canfield signed to the practice squad on November 8 when cornerback Reggie Jones was deleted. Taylor and Jones were re-signed on November 10, with Canfield sent packing.

Canfield replaced Taylor on the practice squad on November 20, and when Canfield was added to the 53-man roster on November 23, Taylor replaced him on the practice squad.

The Saints waived Canfield from the 53-man roster on December 1.

Until another team offers Taylor and/or Canfield a spot on their 53-man roster, expect this shuffling to continue until the Saints' season is over.
