New Orleans Saints running back Chris Ivory has been placed on injured reserve, the team announced on Tuesday.
An undrafted free agent from Tiffin University, Ivory led the Saints with 716 yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground while last year’s leading rusher, Pierre Thomas, was sidelined with an ankle injury.
Ivory injured his foot during Sunday’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and was observed on crutches on Monday with his foot in a protective boot.
Thomas missed the Buccaneers game after tweaking the same ankle in last Friday’s practice.
Ivory will be replaced on the 53-man roster by DeShawn Wynn, who spent four weeks with the team earlier this season and was most recently with the San Francisco 49ers.
