Redskins DE Phillip Daniels Headed to IR

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan announced that veteran defensive end Phillip Daniels will be placed on injured reserve.

Daniels, 37, aggravated an abdomen injury during Sunday's 33-30 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, which was also Daniels' first start of his 15th season.

Re-signed to a two-year contract on March 5, Daniels has two quarterback sacks this season, giving him 62 on in a career that included stints with the Seattle Seahawks (1996-99) and Chicago Bears (2000-03) before arriving in D.C. in 2004.
