Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan announced that veteran defensive end Phillip Daniels will be placed on injured reserve.
Daniels, 37, aggravated an abdomen injury during Sunday’s 33-30 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, which was also Daniels’ first start of his 15th season.
Re-signed to a two-year contract on March 5, Daniels has two quarterback sacks this season, giving him 62 on in a career that included stints with the Seattle Seahawks (1996-99) and Chicago Bears (2000-03) before arriving in D.C. in 2004.
