Raiders Vote to Authorize NFLPA to Decertify
By Brian McIntyre on Nov 19, 2010 with 0 Comments
Players on the Oakland Raiders voted unanimously on Thursday to authorize the NFLPA to decertify itself, if necessary, in the event of a lockout in 2011.
Decertification would allow the union to sue the National Football League under United States anti-trust laws should the owners attempt a work stoppage.
Tight end Zach Miller remains the Raiders’ player representative, with linebacker Ricky Brown and quarterback Bruce Gradkoswki the co-alternates.
According to a union source, players on all 32 NFL teams have voted to authorize the union to decertify in 2011.
