Raiders Release LB Isaiah Ekejiuba

Veteran linebacker Isaiah Ekejiuba has been released by the Oakland Raiders, a league source tells FOXSports.com's Adam Caplan reports.

An undrafted free agent out of the University of Virginia, Ekejiuba originally signed with the Arizona Cardinals, but quickly found his way to Oakland, where he's appeared in 64 games over the last five seasons.

Ekejiuba has 49 tackles during his career, with 46 coming on special teams. Ekejiuba has also forced and recovered a fumble on special teams, and blocked a kick in 2008. Ekejiuba led the Raiders with 15 special teams tackles last season.

Ekejiuba was entering the second year of a three-year, $5.4 million dollar contract extension, and was to earn a $1.45 million dollar base salary in 2010.
