Raiders Grant Permission for Jackson to Interview With 49ers

The Oakland Raiders have granted permission to the San Francisco 49ers to interview offensive coordinator Hue Jackson for their head coaching vacancy, Paul Gutierrez of CSNBayArea.com reports.

Jackson joined the Raiders last January after coaching the Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks from 2008-09. Under Jackson, the Raiders' total offense improved from 31st overall to 10th, their scoring offense jumped from 31st to 6th, and the rushing attack ranked 2nd with 155.9 yards per game.

Oakland is Jackson's third offensive coordinator opportunity, having already had one-year stints with the Washington Redskins (2003) and Atlanta Falcons (2007). Jackson has also coached running backs and receivers in the NFL.

Jackson is also believed to be on Raiders owner Al Davis' short-list for head coaches if the club decides to not retain Tom Cable.
