Packers Sign WR Jason Chery

The Green Bay Packers announced that they have signed wide receiver Jason Chery.

Undrafted rookie wide receiver Jeff Moturi (UTEP) has been placed on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury.

The 5-10, 185-pound Chery began his NFL career with the Carolina Panthers, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Louisiana-Lafayette in 2009.

Last pre-season, Chery caught four passes for 53 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown reception from Hunter Cantwell in the pre-season opener. Waived at the end of training camp, Chery's first season in the NFL was divided between the Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squads. Pittsburgh signed Chery to a "Reserve/Futures" contract in January, and waived him in June to accommodate the signing of 2010 draft picks.
