Packers Sign LB Desmond Bishop to 4-Year Extension

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Green Bay Packers linebacker Desmond Bishop has signed a four-year, $19 million contract extension.

A sixth-round pick out of Cal in 2007, Bishop (6-2, 238) totaled 74 tackles, including 37 on special teams, and 1 quarterback sack in 41 games before moving into the starting lineup after Nick Barnett was placed on injured reserve earlier this season.

Bishop started 12 of 15 games in 2010, establishing career-highs with 103 tackles, 3 quarterback sacks, and his first NFL interception, which he returned for a touchdown.

Bishop was set to be an unrestricted free agent in the off-season.
