Great, as usual. This is something you could easily get scores of people to subscribe to via email.

Nice use of that new web site, by the way. Isn’t it odd that Rodgers is merely 2-15 throwing to the deep middle, yet he/they mercilessly continue to try that throw? I guess they didn’t try it last week (and won…coincidence?). Hope it’s a trend.

Thanks, Ruppert – and thanks again for showing me that site. It’s been a lot of fun to poke around on, although I don’t necessarily agree with all their valuation mechanisms. I agree that Rodgers is best on the deep out throws – why they keep throwing deep over the middle is beyond me. That said, I wouldn’t make the throws either, so I’ll keep my mouth shut.

Congrats, again, Holy! One more time, your reads can get me through a pretending-to-be-working day!

Great analysis. If the Packers could beat the Cowboys, they can beat the Forty-Niners, but that’s exactly what worries me. The Packers are so inconsistent, that no game this season will be an automatic win. They cannot get too confident about any opponent. That being said, I thought that point about the approval ratings for Singletary after he won and lost. When we lost the Buccanneers game, every comment was about how bad McCarthy is, but when we won against Dallas, no one said anything, even though he made just many mistakes last week. Just a thought.

I agree with the sentiment that we should be able to beat the 49ers. While I also have concerns about which Packers team will show up on Sunday, I don’t think the 49ers are as dangerous a team as Dallas. Basically, I think if the “bad” Packers show up against the 49ers it should be a close game and they could ultimately win it at the end. Conversely, if the bad Packers had shown up against Dallas I don’t see them winning that game.

Ultimately, I think it will come down to the offense. The 49ers play ugly games, but, as mentioned above, if the offense can put two quick scores on the board, that’s going to be huge for this team.

PACKERS – I thought the similarity between Singletary and MM in approval ratings was interesting, too, although I don’t think that Packer fans are fooled — there were as many penalties and bad decisions on Sunday as there ever are.

PackersRS – happy to help you not work. :)

Great review. Everything sounds fair but that cowboy comparison was insulting. For that the niners will have to quietly crush the packers. Keep up the good work.

Of course we’re not fooled, but it seems that our priorities can sometimes shift when the most pressing problem is not blaringly obvious.
