McCoy Works Out for the Rams

At this point, there's very little doubt that the St. Louis Rams will select Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford with the first overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Since anything can happen, though, earlier today, Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo, general manager Billy Devaney, and quarterbacks coach Dick Curl conducted a private workout with Texas quarterback Colt McCoy, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

McCoy, who is coming off shoulder surgery, is projected to be selected in the early-to-mid portion of the second round.

According to Devaney, McCoy showed "all the stuff that you look for in a great quarterback" during the workout, which took place  in Austin, Texas. (All private workouts are held on the player's college campus)

"He (McCoy) was extremely impressive," Devaney said. "He made all the throws and his arm strength was good enough."

After the workout, the Rams contingent embarked on a trip to South Bend, Indiana, where first-round quarterback prospect Jimmy Clausen will conduct his pro day on Friday.
