Jets Sign DT Howard Green

Free agent defensive tackle Howard Green has signed a two-year deal with the New York Jets, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Green will help fill the void created with the loss of Kris Jenkins for the season to a torn ACL in his left knee.

Re-signing Green is not a surprise, as the 6-2, 320-pounder totaled 23 tackles in 12 games for the Jets last season.

A 2002 sixth-round pick (190th overall) out of LSU by the Houston Texans, Green has 78 tackles and a quarterback sack during a 49-game career with the Texans (2002), Baltimore Ravens (2002), New Orleans Saints (2003-04), Seattle Seahawks (2007-08) and Jets.

Green went to training camp with the Washington Redskins this summer, but was released on September 4.
