Giants OT Guy Whimper Signs RFA Tender

New York Giants restricted free agent offensive tackle Guy Whimper has signed his one-year tender, a league source said.

Whimper has appeared in 30 games for the Giants over since being chosen in the fourth-round pick (129th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft out of East Carolina. The 6-5, 302-pound tackle missed the entire 2008 season with a foot injury, and was tendered at the "Original Round" level, which carries a $1.176 million dollar base salary for the 2010 season.

Whimper joins fellow offensive tackle Kevin Boothe and defensive end Dave Tollefson as the Giants' restricted free agents who have signed their one-year tenders. Defensive tackle Barry Cofield, wide receivers Derek Hagan, Dominek Hixon, and Sinorice Moss, and linebacker Gerris Wilkinson have yet to sign their tenders. Safety C.C. Brown had his one-year tender rescinded when the Giants signed veteran safety Deon Grant.

The Giants also terminated the contract of veteran defensive tackle Anthony Bryant.
