Giants Downgrade KR Darius Reynaud to Out

The New York Giants have downgraded kick returner Darius Reynaud to "Out", Mike Garafolo of The Star-Ledger reports.

Reynaud (hamstring) had been listed as "Doubtful" for tomorrow's game against the Seattle Seahawks, but won't be accompanying the team on it's trip to the Pacific Northwest.

Acquired from the Minnesota Vikings in September, Reynaud has averaged 18.4 yards on 21 kick returns, with a season long of 31 yards. Reynaud has been even less effective on punt returns, averaging 5.9 yards on 22 returns, with a long of 20 yards.

With Reynaud out, the newly signed Will Blackmon will handle the return duties.

A fourth-round pick (115th overall) out of Boston College by the Green Bay Packers in 2006, injuries have limited to Blackmon to just 32 games in his career, during which he's made 41 tackles and defended one pass. Blackmon has averaged 21.1 yards per kick return, and has an 11-yard average on 47 punt returns, three of which he's returned for touchdowns.

Blackmon also led the Packers with 16 special teams tackles and three fumble recoveries in 2008.
