Gates Likely Out For Rest of Regular Season

San Diego Chargers six-time Pro Bowl tight end Antonio Gates missed a second straight game on Thursday night, and conceded that the earliest he'll return is if the Chargers make the post-season.

"I think that’s kind of the goal," Gates said on Thursday, according to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Gates has torn the plantar fascia in his right foot, with the pain preventing him from cutting and planting off that foot. Gates missed two weeks in November with a sprained ankle and turf toe on his left foot.

Gates leads the Chargers with 50 receptions, 762 yards, and 10 touchdowns in 10 games this season.
