Free Agents White, Thomas Suspended by NFL

LenDale White and Hollis Thomas have received multi-game suspensions from the National Football League.

Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports that free agents LenDale White and Hollis Thomas have received multi-game suspensions from the National Football League.

Running back White, most recently of the Seattle Seahawks, received a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. In interviews after his release, White indicated that he actively smokes marijuana.

Thomas, a 36-year old defensive tackle who made 33 tackles for the 2009 Carolina Panthers, received an 8-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy against performance-enhancing drugs.

When he was a member of the New Orleans Saints in 2006, Thomas was suspended four games after losing an appeal where he argued that his failed drug test was due to asthma medication.
