The Philadelphia Eagles announced that rookie safety Nate Allen has officially been placed on injured reserve.
Allen, the 37th overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, ruptured the patellar tendon in his knee on Sunday. The NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Month in September, Allen totaled 48 tackles, 2 quarterback sacks, and 3 interceptions in 13 games this season.
Philadelphia has also released tight end Garrett Mills, and signed cornerback Jamar Wall and defensive tackle Jeff Owens off their practice squad. Former Seattle Seahawks safety Jamar Adams has been re-signed to the Eagles’ practice squad.
