Dolphins Sign QB Patrick Ramsey

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Miami Dolphins have signed veteran quarterback Patrick Ramsey.

The Dolphins are in need of quarterbacks after losing Chad Pennington (shoulder) and Chad Henne (knee) to injuries on Sunday. Pennington's injury is the fourth serious right shoulder injury he's sustained, and could end his playing career.

A first-round pick out of Tulane by the Washington Redskins in 2002, Ramsey has completed 56% of his 913 pass attempts for 5,930 yards, with 35 touchdowns and 30 interceptions for a career passer rating of 74.9.

Prior to this season, Ramsey also had stints with the New York Jets, Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, and Detroit Lions. Ramsey went to training camp this season with the New Orleans Saints, and spent nine days in October with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Ramsey last appeared in an NFL game during the 2008 season.
